Nathan Miller connects a Bible verse about laziness to self-sabotage, sharing his struggle with late-night work and early mornings. He admits his justification for staying up to communicate with China contacts is mostly cope, and says he finally woke at 8 AM. The real issue: discipline and aligning daily habits with the opportunities you're given.

In the Bible, it says that a lazy man is a brother to the saboteur. And what that means is that by being lazy, by procrastinating, by putting things off, by taking shortcuts and cutting corners, you are sabotaging yourself. Not only are you sabotaging yourself about qualities that you would build, but also opportunities that you'd get. And the opportunities God has given you to act on, you aren't taking as seriously. I read that this morning, waking up at 8:00 AM for probably the first time this week. I am terrible at waking up early. And I've always said, because I'm doing e-commerce and I work with people in China that like, "Oh, I need to stay up late. I need to make sure I'm texting them. I need to be available at certain times at night, so I have to wake up a little later." I really think it's just all cope, honestly. Do I work a little bit better at night? Probably. But also, I haven't woken up consistently at an early time in the morning. And I haven't gotten used to that schedule enough to actually see like consistent results with it. But yeah, whenever I woke up this morning, I just went out here, read my Bible, and that's what I got from the word today. And so I just kind of wanted to share it with you guys. I need to get a better sleep schedule. Good morning.
