neuroscience says there’s a 95% chance your brain needs rest

In this motivational video, Nathan Miller addresses young entrepreneurs who chase high growth targets, urging them to balance ambition with intentional rest. He argues that relentless hustle without clarity leads to spinning wheels, while purposeful downtime fuels creativity and direction. Miller shares personal habits—daily to‑do lists, precise goal tracking, and scheduled reflection—to maintain clarity. He illustrates his point with Michael Jackson’s story of waiting by a pool for inspiration, emphasizing the value of waiting for ideas rather than constant work. Practical rest techniques are offered, such as meditation, breathwork, phone‑free walks, and simply enjoying moments like a beach in Kauai. The overall message is that disciplined work combined with intentional relaxation maximizes both productivity and personal freedom.

Once you make it, bro, do not be afraid to have some fun. Just take some time to relax and more importantly, time to think. I know me being an entrepreneur and especially at a young age, like I have very high ambitions and I'm sure a lot of you guys do too. Like you want to reach these crazy months, you want to do these crazy numbers, but like what's the point of doing these crazy things? Is it just to achieve new heights? Is it to impress other people or is it so you can actually take the time and actually use it doing what you want. And so you can have freedom. And so something I've thought of, because I've constantly been getting caught in this trap where I'm like, I need to do this, I need to do that, I need to reach this milestone, right? I need to reach that number, this amount of MRR, whatever it is, right? And I still want to reach those things. And goals are very important, but it's also important to smell the flowers. And to take time to yourself, take time with your family, right? And make sure that you are actually prioritizing that and really trying to do your best. It's just honestly enjoy max, bro. Like, enjoy max. Like, life maxing isn't just grind, hustle, right? It's not the New York City lifestyle where you're just grinding and constantly, constantly doing stuff. It's where you grind, you spend your time wisely, you spend your time intentionally, and then the time you take to actually take care of yourself is it doesn't feel like it's taken away because of how intentional you are with your time when you actually work. And I think that's really important. And that's a big reason why I like to do to-do lists. You know, I really like to track and I really like to be very precise and articulate about exactly what I want to get done every day, the goals I want to get done and where I want to go. And that way it allows me to have this freedom and this time where I can truly relax and unwind because I have clear direction. I have purpose, right? I have everything I need. And so when I'm in times like this and I'm chilling on the beach, like, I don't need to think about work. I don't need to think about what's next or what's coming because I simply already have it planned out. And I make sure to spend time daily making sure those, those thoughts are clear in my head. And I think clarity is the most underrated thing when it comes to a business. If you have clarity, if you have clarity in your life, you've clarity in your goal, you have clarity with everything, then the times where you actually get to sit down, relax, and breathe become a lot much, much, much more enjoyable. They become more easier to actually spend the time and not even think. Like, I think spending time out here is really important. And for example, I just watched the Michael Jackson movie on the flight on the way here because the Wi-Fi was doodoo, so I couldn't even work because I wanted to work, I wanted to read, but I also got a little nauseous. I was like, okay, I'm just gonna chill and watch a movie. And one thing Michael Jackson said that I think is really cool is he sat next to a pool, right? This is when he was like already doing really well, right? His family was well off, he was well off. But when he wanted to make this, this crazy solo album, right, and split off from the Jackson 5, he spent a lot of his time just sitting at the pool, sitting at the pool and waiting. And a lot of his brothers were like, yo, Jackson, what are you doing? Like, you're not doing anything, like you're just chilling. And he was like, I'm waiting for God to inspire me. I'm waiting for God to give me idea, because if I'm not here to receive this idea, he's gonna give it to Prince. And I think that that's very true when it comes to the work we do and being an entrepreneur and making online money, is we're We're always wrapped inside of this, like this loophole, this, this— honestly, it's another type of rat race, like this other race that we're constantly going circles and circles that we don't stop and take time to actually receive information, to receive clarity, and to receive ideas. And so you keep doing more work, but it doesn't actually get you anywhere. You're spinning your wheels because you don't have clarity, you don't have direction, you don't have intention, right? And so Taking some time to relax, taking some time to mull over and think over things is really important. It's so important. And I think as any young aspirational person, I think that's something you should prioritize. And it doesn't have to be, you know, sitting on the beach or going on a crazy vacation, right? Every day you can do it. It could be sitting in your room meditating, right? Doing breathwork, going for a walk without your phone, like little things like this that help stimulate that, that kind of feeling. So hopefully you guys enjoyed this video. I'm enjoying the heck out of Kauai. So yeah, without further ado, bless you guys and peace out.
