Nicolas Cole argues that every priority has a cost, whether you admit it or not. You can't have it all. Better to choose what you sacrifice than let circumstances choose for you.
Everything has a cost. If you're gonna focus on something, there's going to be a cost. I think the mistake that people make is they go into things thinking, "I can have my cake and eat it too," or thinking, "There won't be a cost." But then the cost presents itself either way. You're just conscious of it or you're unconscious of it. And so I think it's better if you're gonna prioritize something to just be consciously aware of, "This is gonna cost me something, so I might as well be the one to choose," rather than life or circumstance choosing for me. Right.
