Not sure what the arc of your story should be. That's okay. Most stories fall into one of these five proven storytelling plots. First, the underdog main character is underestimated, then comes out on top. Rags to riches Main character starts with nothing, ends up with everything. Fish out of water main character ends up somewhere he or she doesn't belong, but ends up fitting in. The identity crisis main character doesn't know who they are or should be and goes on a journey to find out. And lastly, Power and corruption. Main character doesn't have power, but insists he or she will use it for good, then gets the power and uses it for evil.
