This is a YouTube video titled "How To Make Money As A Writer" containing a monologue or talk from May 14, 2024, discussing strategies for writers to monetize their talents by offering services aligned with their writing interests, such as ghostwriting Twitter threads or newsletters. The content features a single speaker sharing advice on leveraging personal writing skills for income.
So something I talk about in my book, the Art and Business of Ghostwriting, is that if you want to monetize your talents as a writer, the easiest way to do that is to basically take whatever you enjoy writing about yourself and also provide that as a service. So think of providing it as a service, as a dividend that you're getting on your talents. So if you really enjoy writing Twitter threads, for example, you should also ghostwrite Twitter threads because you've already built the skill, right? It's a dividend on your talent. If you have a weekly newsletter, you really enjoy writing newsletters, you should also ghostwrite newsletters for other people. It's a dividend on your talent. So whatever it is that you enjoy doing, provide that skill for other people and you will get paid a dividend on your talent.
