How to scale a business (without crashing it)

A talk on why businesses crash when they grow too fast. The speaker argues you need to pause and consolidate at each revenue stage before pushing higher, or you'll outrun your foundation.

This is also something I don't hear a lot of people talk about, which is so much of growth isn't constant growth. Like, if anything, you're actually better off growing and then pausing and sort of cleaning up what just happened. Because the business is different from 20k a month to 50k a month. Those are different businesses. 50k to 100k a month. Those are different businesses. And if you don't take the time to sort of pause and crystallize the new level that you're at, it either falls apart and goes away, or you just go onto the next one, and then you jump one more level, and then things just break even more. You're leaving yourself very vulnerable for growing too quickly and not really understanding what were the levers that got me here, and how do I make sure that this level is solid before I ascend to the next one.
