Build a library of niche content instead of chasing viral hits. Ryan Holiday dominated his corner by writing consistently about stoicism, which created lasting monetization and influence. One focused audience beats a million random viewers.
Library, not virality. The goal is not to go viral. The goal is to build a library of content in a niche that you can dominate. One of my favorite examples is Ryan Holiday. Every time Ryan Holiday writes a book about stoicism, it becomes a New York Times bestselling book. Now why does that happen? Well, because he has a YouTube channel where he talks about stoicism. He writes articles about stoicism, all of his social platforms, he talks about stoicism. He has a newsletter about stoicism. He has a podcast about stoicism. You should see the pattern. And because he dominates this niche, not only can he write books about stoicism and they all become bestsellers dollars, but he can sell Marcus Aurelius bobbleheads and stoicism coins and make millions of dollars from it because those products are within the niche of stoicism. So the goal actually has nothing to do with going viral. The entire game is about building a library within a niche that you can dominate. For a decade.
