This is a YouTube video titled "The more risk, the better the upside" containing a motivational or educational talk delivered by a single speaker discussing the relationship between risk, uncertainty, and potential upside in life and endeavors. The content emphasizes how initial struggles and uncertainty signal high potential rewards. The video was created in November 2024.
Most things in life where there is an exponential outcome inherently come with a lot of slog in the beginning, a lot of time where it's not working, or you're not sure how it's going to work. And they always come with some element of quote, unquote risk. And a lot of times that risk doesn't mean I'm risking some huge amount of money, or I'm risking my full time job, or I'm risking something that I currently have. The risk is just I'm not 100% sure this is going to work. And as a nice rule of thumb for yourself, the more uncertain you are about the outcome, the quote unquote riskier it is, the more upside there is as well. So you sort of want to retrain your brain to realize that that uncertainty is actually a signal that this has a lot of upside and a lot of potential.
