I think that idea gets very lost in the world of personal branding. People put a lot of emphasis with personal branding on like, you need to achieve some sort of attention outcome. That is not actually the purpose. The purpose is creating association with a topic and creating a vehicle for you to practice on yourself. And then as you do that, then when the client is like, well, I think our newsletter should do X, Y, Z, I think we should say it this way, I think we should write the subject line this way, and you're going to be very confident in your response because you're going to go, I just want to educate you. I've been running my own newsletter for 2 years. I have plenty of patterns recognition. Trust me, that is not what works. And you are going to speak with a different level of conviction because you're practicing on yourself.
