This is a YouTube video titled "The Women by Kristin Hannah was the most-sold book of 2024." It contains a monologue discussing the sales success of the book compared to other bestsellers in both fiction and nonfiction genres, highlighting the financial and cultural impact of bestselling fiction authors. The content is a single-speaker commentary without conversational elements.
This book was the most sold book of 2024. It sold over 1.7 million copies. It beat out James Clear's Atomic Habits. It beat Colleen Hoover's. It Ends With Us. It beat Rebecca Yarros's the Fourth Wing. It beat everyone. And this is a great example of why fiction is so much bigger than nonfiction. Even though I just listed out both fiction and nonfiction. If you look at the best selling nonfiction writers, many of them will sell 2, 5, 10 outlier examples, maybe 20 million copies, like the Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck by Mark manson. He sold 20 million copies and he probably made 10, 20, 30 million bucks from it. Then you go look at fiction writers like John Grisham or James Patterson or Stephen King, right? And these guys are selling hundreds of millions of copies, right? And they're worth hundreds of millions of dollars. And so I always love seeing examples like this where when you write a story that resonates uncapped potential.
