This is a YouTube video titled "This book paid me $150,000 in royalties" containing a monologue or presentation by a single speaker explaining the step-by-step process of self-publishing a book, including buying an ISBN, selecting categories on Amazon, hiring a cover designer, formatting the book, and using Amazon's print-on-demand service to generate royalties.
This book has made me over $150,000 in royalties and I self published it for less than $3,000. Here's what I did, step by step. First I went to a site called Bowker, which is where you can buy your own ISBN for your book. So see this little barcode on the back? That's what this is. Next, I used a tool called Publisher Rocket to look up the least competitive categories on Amazon. Then I hired a cover designer from this really cool website called I needabookcover.com a lot of the designers here are the same designers who work for the big five publishers like Penguin Random House and they just want to freelance on the side. Then I used this really cool tool called Readzee, which allows you to format the interior of your book for free. Then I just went right inside Amazon's self publishing plat, kdp, uploaded the COVID the interior PDF, added my ISBN barcode, picked the least competitive categories related to my book, and boom. Now, every day when someone buys a copy of the Art and Business of Online Writing, Amazon prints it on demand, extracts the printing costs from my royalties and I get paid the rest. And here's what my inbox looks like at the end of each month.
