A writing technique called the 1, 3, 1 rhythm cadence makes your sentences more engaging. One short sentence, three medium ones, one short one again. It's from a book on online writing and works across everything you publish.
One of my favorite digital writing upgrades that anyone can make to their writing. I talk about it here in chapter eight in my book, the Art and Business of Online Writing. And the idea is to use this writing rhythm cadence that I call 1, 3, 1. So what that means is you open with a single sentence, a single declarative sentence, then you go into a little paragraph of description, so three sentences, and then you end with another single sentence. It sort of closes out. The idea beauty of this framework is that you can repeat the 1, 3, 1 all the way down the page, and the reader is going to have no idea what's happening. It's like a magic trick. It gives them the feeling that they're sliding down the page because there's this rhythm baked into the writing. So if you have trouble keeping readers engaged, I really encourage you to a, you know, pick this up. Gives you everything you need. But Also in chapter eight, walking through the 1, 3, 1, and all the different writing rhythms, give that a try.
