A writer reflects on tools and resources available to newer writers today, like Ship 30 and PGA, that didn't exist when they started. They wish they'd had access to these platforms earlier in their career.
I don't really believe in regretting things, but I'm extremely jealous of the 18, 19, 20 year olds that are going through ship 30 or even PGA. I wish that I had access to all of the resources that we have created and give people. Now I just think back to my 18 year old self and if I had had that, I probably wouldn't have gone to college. I probably would have started seeing more success for my writing much sooner. Probably would have made a lot more money sooner. I mean, hindsight's 20 20, but it makes me very happy that I can live vicariously through the next generation of writers.
