A speaker argues that young people need to build discipline and consistency above all else. The focus is on moving from passively consuming information to actively creating and applying what you learn, with rapid feedback driving improvement.
How would you recommend altering the approach to teaching writing in schools? So I think the biggest thing that needs to change is students need to get further and further away from passive consumption, just sitting in the room listening to information being talked at them. And they need to get closer and closer to active creation. So that means less sitting there internalizing the information and more applying some sort of new piece of information. So you're always getting rapid fire feedback loops, you're always iterating, you're always making progress, you're always seeing what works because there's no point in consuming information if you don't know how to apply it.
