Nicolas Cole breaks down the offer stack for selling a newsletter service: map three content buckets to audience sub-archetypes, create samples, set up platforms, draft a month of newsletters, and test subject lines. Drilling the monologue builds credibility and turns vague interest into a clear picture of value.

The most important part of the sales call that you only get better at by drilling is when you run through and you ramble through the offer stack of the service that you're proposing. You get through the call, you walk them all through, and they're like, "Wow, okay, so this is what you do?" And you're like, "Yeah, yeah, so this is what I specialize in. I help people with their weekly newsletter." Client goes, "Okay, I'm like sort of interested. Walk me through. What are all the things that go into that?" That should trigger your brain to, "Here comes my big monologue. I'm going to rattle through everything on my offer stack." Okay, so just to walk you through what that would look like to help you with a weekly newsletter, one of the first things I would do is I would map out the 3 content buckets. I'm sure there's like 2 or 3 different audiences or sub-archetypes that you want to attract. The second thing I would do is I would come up with sample pieces for each one so that you could see how we would speak to those audiences. Third, I would just want to get your logins, get you set up on all the different platforms. Fourth, what I would do is I would draft initial newsletters for each one of those content buckets. We could load those up. I would want to get at least like a month in advance. Can everyone hear like how fast I'm rattling through that? It's as if I've done it 10,000 times. That is the goal. Notice how differently that comes off than if the client goes, so what goes into that? And you go, um, so yeah, I'll do your newsletter. Newsletter. And I think we could also like maybe test subject lines. That's the A/B. And the B is what most people do.
