This is a YouTube video titled "Why Less is More" containing a discussion between two speakers about membership content strategies, focusing on how unlocking all content at once can devalue the offering and increase churn. The conversation explores pricing and content release pacing to maintain member engagement. There is no indication that Nicolas Cole is one of the speakers.
If you have a membership, the second someone joins all of the content they unlock is immediately.
Useless and devalued.
Devalued. Right. So if you think that, oh, they're not going to leave because all the contents in there, not true. They stay because of the prospect of unlocking more content. And so Ravi, who we had dinner with yesterday, has done a great job with his school group because you get in and there's like five things unlocked and you unlock a new thing each month. It's not, oh, it's so valuable because I put all this stuff in there. It's actually devalues all of it. They get overwhelmed and then the churn is like that's easy to churn.
Yep. And if you just think of the math of that, right? Like if the difference between a $200 digital product that has all of that content versus a $20 a month community slash membership that has all of that content, right? Like it's actually the same product, it's the same content.
