Why you should start ghostwriting

A writer explains why ghostwriting is worth doing. You can monetize skills faster, earn more money, and improve your craft by writing for others instead of building your own audience from scratch.
If you're already writing on the Internet, you should probably start ghostwriting. Because any skill that you have, if you're good at writing tweets, if you're good at writing threads, if you're good at making LinkedIn carousels, if you're good at writing newsletters, ghostwriting is a dividend on that skill. It's a dividend on your talent. So anything that you know how to write for yourself, you can monetize by selling as a service to someone else. This is why I say ghostwriting is the fastest path for any writer to start making ten grand a month. Because if you already have a skill somewhere else, all you have to do is go provide that skill to other people. And part of why writers struggle so much is because they think, oh, the only time I can monetize my skill is if I'm writing something for me. And that's not true. How I generated millions of dollars for myself as a writer is by writing for other people first. And guess what? Writing for other people made my writing better. I got paid to practice. I got paid to play with words all day. I got paid to learn how to write in a gazillion different voices. So anything that you're good at writing, you should monetize by providing as a service to someone else.
