This is a YouTube video titled "You re Never Selling Anything to Anyone, You re Giving Them An Opportunity" containing a motivational or instructional talk focused on sales and outreach strategies. The speaker shares a philosophy about approaching potential clients by educating and offering help rather than pitching, emphasizing a consultative and value-driven method. The content is a monologue without multiple speakers or conversational elements.
I had a mentor in Chicago who used to say, you are never selling anything to anyone. You are giving them an opportunity. And so when you think about outreach, whether it's to your network or cold leads, you don't want to approach it through this lens of, like, pitching. Everyone knows when they're getting pitched. So the whole methodology that I'm a firm believer in is you want it to all sound like free consulting. Everything that you do, every text message, every email, every phone call, every zoom, it should all feel like, hey, I see what you're doing. I can't help myself. You're making a mistake. I just wanted to point it out and help you do with it what you will. I just wanted you to know. And when you do that, the other person can't help but go, ah, you just educated me on a problem, and now I know I have this problem. And then inevitably, they go to you and say, so is that what you do? Then you go, oh, yeah, no, that. That is what I do. I specialize in that. And then they go, can you help me? And you go, sure, I. I'd be happy to help. You're not pitching them and going, buy from me. You're educating and, like, guiding them until they're forced to go, I need someone to help me. Is this what you do?
