Nicolas Cole wrote about bodybuilding for two years, then switched niches without any real consequences. You're not locked into your first topic. Creators worry picking the wrong niche wastes months, but pivoting doesn't blow up your life.
One of the biggest reasons why people struggle to niche down is they're afraid, "If I pick the wrong topic, I will waste time." Because what happens if you write about that for 3 months and then you change your mind? You decide you want to do something different? You're really afraid that you're going to waste 3 months. I wrote about bodybuilding for 2 years and then decided, "Actually, this isn't what I want to do," and I pivoted. And guess what? Nothing bad happened. My laptop didn't explode. I didn't have to start my whole life over. Nobody got mad. You just pivot and you apply it to a different industry.
