Niraj Naik recounts his personal quest to find scientific evidence explaining his own spontaneous healing. He proposes that psychological processes, breathwork, meditation, and certain yoga postures can provide mechanistic explanations for healing practices often labelled "woo-woo," and suggests that hands-on therapies (e.g., Reiki) may work via relaxation, increased blood flow, and reduced bodily contraction.

I went into a quest to put scientific evidence and to figure out why I healed myself. In order to reach people like myself, I needed to have the science, I needed to have the evidence. How does praying to an angel give you healing? You know, there's no mechanics there. It's like you're not going to see the angel. There's no angel. So I believe that using psychology and knowing how the breath works, meditation works, and, and how certain yoga asanas move the body and the energy around the body, you can actually show mechanisms for why spontaneous healing can occur. When you lie down and somebody puts their hands on you, because maybe for the first time, you're getting blood flow to areas that haven't been getting blood flow because you're lying down in a relaxed state, that maybe explains why Reiki works just by lying down. And having somebody just to care for you for an hour can be enough to bring down the contraction in the body, because a lot of the disease is caused by contraction.
