A short podcast/transcript excerpt where CRM specialist Elena Key describes migrating a real estate team's CRM, establishing standards, expectations, and consequences for agents to improve deal closings. She frames her role as supportive (to help close more deals) rather than micromanaging; the clip promotes episode 34 of the Real Estate Team OS podcast.
Your database manager isn't a micromanager, they're a partner in your success.
I was working full time for one real estate team and pretty quickly took on the role of CRM migration where I was migrating them from one CRM to another and I realized that the current CRM they were using was all over the place. They didn't have any standard operating procedures for it, any metrics or guidelines they wanted their agents to follow. The CRM is not going to make a difference unless we change what the expectations are for the agents. So very quickly I became like the database manager and created those expectations and consequences and the agents didn't like me. But it helps them close more deals. And that's what I was always telling them is I'm only doing this because I want you to close more deals, not because I'm trying to be some new micromanager in the company.
