A short transcript excerpt from a Real Estate Team OS episode (episode 57, guest Tyler Blair) describing an early recruiting practice where prospective agents were invited to lunch with the team as an informal hiring test. The speaker explains this approach built strong team bonds while becoming impractical as the team grew past ~20 members.

I wasn't like, hey, we're looking for agents. No, no. We were closing deals, we had blinders on, and that's it. So when people came to us, we didn't need them. So it was like, hey, why don't you come to lunch with the team, and then we'll decide if you're a good fit with us. And then I would ask each team member, well, how do you feel? How do you feel? How do you feel? And I'd go around. And there was always one guy. He was like, no. And I'm like, okay, Stephen, stop. I love you, but we can't say no to everybody, right? Anyway, so that worked really, really well. But it also created a bond with everybody, a real bond. And that was something that is so hard to have and so hard to keep. Once we hit 20, then it wasn't me doing it.
That's how recruiting started. Now learn how it's going. Learn how it's evolved. With Tyler Blair on episode 57 of Real Estate Team OS.
