Short clip (YouTube) from Real Estate Team OS featuring Andrew Duncan in a discussion about leaders stepping in and out of hands-on roles. The speaker explains that when company performance falls short of expectations he has recently (last 30 days) returned to a hands-on, operational role to diagnose problems, implement changes, and pivot the organization. The clip promotes episode 39 of the Real Estate Team OS series for more detail.
If you're a team leader operating at a high level, when should you get hands on again? When should you get back into the weeds of your business?
Over the years, there's been this constant kind of me stepping in and out of roles where the company needed me, depending on the market, depending on how successful the company was performing. So we're in one of those now where the company hasn't performed up to my expectations. And I've had to say, okay, let me really dive deep into this, which I've done for the last 30 days, and figure out what it is that we're not doing, and then make those necessary changes. Because, you know, I am someone completely comfortable with change. Most people that are more operators, that are more day to day people are completely opposed to it, they're against it. So I had to come in and kind of blow some things up to get the change needed to pivot the organization based on all the changes that are going on right now.
