This is the conspiracy theorist in me going to come out. I have a hard time believing that NAR and MLS in five years are going to exist in the framework that they exist now. I think we're going to see some transformational change to how real estate brokerages operate. The people that are going to be most successful in real estate the next few years are going to have an investment business. They're going to have a flip of business. Think of like a car dealership. Take houses in on trade, buy the house so that they can buy another. I think they have to monetize the seller side of the business as much as they can. I make way more when I renovate and resell a property than I do on a commission. Every smart real estate team leader, if they put all their eggs in the hat of real estate commission and real estate commissions continue to get pressed down and they don't build out an investment business either for rentals or for fix and flip renovations or wholesaling, they're leaving a lot on the table.
Learn how Andrew Duncan's operating his real estate team a bit more like a car dealership on episode 39 of Real Estate Team OS.
