Speaker recounts how the real estate team business model became relevant to them, crediting Gary Keller's book The Millionaire Real Estate Agent as a catalyst. They describe personal business overload (carrying two phones, missed follow-ups) leading to hiring an admin and then a buyer agent, which evolved into a successful ‘mega agent’ or team approach.

When did the real estate team business model come onto your radar? I was at Keller Williams, and there's a guy named Gary Keller. He wrote a book called the Millionaire Real Estate Agent Book. In that book, it starts to talk about building a business in real estate. My life was a little unmanageable. No, my business was a man. Yeah, well, my business was making my life unmanageable. I, like, Googled, when do you need an assistant? The list was like, is your home life a little unstable? I was carrying around two phones. My wife's like, can you please put the phone down while we're eating dinner? Right? So that answer was yes. The next one was, business will be falling through the cracks. There's a piece. Piece of paper on my desk. And I was called, crap, let me call that number. Mary, I met you last week. You're looking to buy a house, and blah, blah, blah. And she said, actually, that was a month ago. And I found a house. Thanks for nothing. You know, so, like, in that book, it kind of talks about hiring an admin first, and that kind of was the start of it. And then once on my time back then, we hire a buyer agent, right? And that's kind of like, I believe that's the way, but that's just the way it went for me. And so that worked out really, really great running that, like, mega agent model.
