I have a master's degree in public administration so I was like let me find out what happened here. Seattle and Portland had to go through what the people at the time said was a necessary evil which was gentrification. Detroit at the time was coming out of bankruptcy and I said oh my God lashawn, this is what's getting ready to happen in Detroit. We have to go let people know they have to get themselves together. And at the time I was licensed the homeownership rate for African Americans was 36%. So that drove the mission of what team Peterson in Jackson is which is to increase homeownership in our communities, build generational wealth and also create knowledgeable and productive realtors. I just wanted to do that. I love to say that last year in the metro Detroit area our homeownership rate is now at 46%.
