12 - Wrap Up

Rick Wilkes and Kathy wrap up their series on money and shame, encouraging viewers to keep working on their relationship with money and stay engaged with their community.
Welcome to the wrap up. You did it. Congratulations. We're so proud of you. This is a difficult topic and you looked at it with courage and integrity and you made it to the end. The program is still going to be here. You can go back and listen to parts of it again or go through the whole program with a new focus. Sometimes when we step into new comfort zones, we buy a new house or we get a job or a raise, some old stuff can come up, new layers or levels of it. So it's all here for you. But realize you've made such a profound difference in your life by being here. You've started looking at money in a different way. We've talked about how there isn't an original shame or guilt. We're not born with guilt and shame around money. And then we can actually clear them to get back to a place where we have a lot more freedom. Especially when we link it to the realization that we can have integrity around money. We don't have to be stuck with the Middle Ages belief that we have to be a baron with serfs or take it from someone else to get it. We can add value to the world and create value and have abundance flow to us really quite delightfully. And there isn't a lack I don't have to take from Rick to get abundance. We can co create it together or he can create his own and I can create my own. But it's not like there's only a little bit and we have to fight over it. If I take it, someone else doesn't get it. There really is abundance out there for anyone who can get past the soup, the ancestral shackles of guilt and shame that hold us back.
We've been engaging around energies, the energies that feel like shackles but aren't physical things. The neat thing about this is that what I've noticed when I've watched people go through this journey, this process, is that they literally walk differently. I think of someone walking with a shackle, a ball and chain, and people would want to avert their attention from it. They don't want to be engaged with someone that feels so enslaved or imprisoned. That's part of our primitive brain. We avoid people that are in that place. The neat thing about this process is that people who are already free around money will find you a kindred spirit as you let go of those shackles. They'll feel your newfound freedom, your curiosity, the way that you want to engage with life differently. They will be activated by your inspiration and the other people who are ready for feeling that energy to get permission. Because frankly, if you're doing this type, of course, we consider you a leading edge creator. You're one of the people that is breaking free and you're going to inspire those that are waiting for someone else to do it. Just like there were so many people waiting for someone else to break the four minute mile.
Once they did, everybody started breaking it.
That's right. As you break free of some of the guilt and shame and obligation, guess what? People are going to interact with you differently. Your family is going to feel like you're not trying to obligate them by doing things for them. And they're going to feel free to say no to you and also to say yes from a place of passion, from a place of service, from a place of deep caring. That's an extraordinary place to have gotten to. And we're delighted to be engaging with people like you that have done this work and are going to continue to do it and take it out into the world.
World, absolutely. And as you start releasing your conflict around money, you start feeling that it's a wallet full of snakes, so to speak, you'll stop avoiding it. And when you start paying attention to it and being able to know exactly where you are right now and having intentions for it in the future, when you start treating it as a friend that's not going to betray you, hurt you, or leave you judged by society, you start having a better relationship with it in a lot of ways. And I know even though I had a lot of money coming in when I was first an engineer, I didn't want to look at money, I didn't want to know where I was. So I had bounced checks, I had money that, you know, past due bills. It wasn't that I didn't have the money, but it was that I wasn't engaged with it. And so those things sapped money from me and I had to get rid of my money as fast as I could. And that really made it hard for me to enjoy and have abundance.
It does.
As you start releasing these guilts and shames, as you continue doing this and start having a better and better relationship with money, because it's gonna get better now, each time you approach it, you're already somewhat less guilty and shameful. So it's gonna feel better. And as you keep healing that, it's gonna be so delightful. But as you start having that new relationship and that new intention, it gets very easy to start creating what you want to have. It doesn't mean that it won't necessarily require effort. It doesn't mean that you won't create things in the world. But you'll be able to say, I want that, and figure out how to get there in a whole new way. And that's gonna trickle out. And your kids, your family, your co workers are gonna start feeling the difference.
They will.
You won't. Your energy won't be sapped by this worry. You're not gonna be going to the restaurant and sit there half the time worrying about whether you have the money to pay your lunch bill, or if you left enough money in your bank account, or if you remembered to pay the mortgage. You'll just be much more present. And that adds so much to the world.
It's interesting, even in little ways, like the amount of tip that you give. It can be something that is from your own clarity rather than from, I'll feel guilty if I don't leave 20% or I feel like I don't have enough to be generous here. And it gives you a clarity. And I want to acknowledge, because I think that Kathy and I, with engineering backgrounds, we want to notice how things are. Engineers, well, you know, if you don't see how things are, you can't improve them.
It's hard to build the bridge.
Right? And one of the things that we're in the process of improving, that we're joining with you as part of our tribe, is to change to the new energy of money. But not everyone is there. So somebody that you're going to run into is going to have an old style view. It could be the next time you go to Thanksgiving, you know, it could be that when you sit down at a table, people talk about energy of money in a way that leaves you feeling a little gross. And one of the things that is so empowering about tapping for me is that it would be like, I would never walk barefoot if I couldn't wash my feet. Tapping gives you an option to be able to clean up your energy because the fact of the matter is that you can run into people that don't have high integrity around money. Someone that you might hire for a service and they don't actually produce what they said that they were going to. Your primitive brain is going to react to that situation and want to understand what does this mean for my life. And by taking a conscious view of it and soothing yourself so that you're not creating associations like, oh, I can't ever work with anyone again, I can never pay. Your primitive brain wants to make that kind of judgment and by tapping, you're going to be cleaning up your energy. You're going to be able to take whatever wisdom is there. You're going to be able to talk about it with somebody else without the shame because it involved money. You spent money you didn't get what you want. Aren't you supposed to be ashamed about that? Not anymore. Right. Isn't that awesome? You don't have to be ashamed about it. You can talk to another professional about how to upgrade, upgrade your engagement process perhaps without the shame and with learning and growth. That's awesome. And people will pick up on that. You're able to partner with them at that level and that opens up opportunities for you. You start thinking about the adding value rather than extracting from used to be. If you wanted wealth, you extracted gold from the ground. Now you add value that is golden to the hearts and minds of other people. What a difference. And it's a lot less muddy and environmentally. Ah, win, win. And that's what we're so grateful to you for engaging with Kathy and I. We would love to hear in your comments where you are now, what's next for you, what's the next step in your own growth and process and we'd love to be a part of that. Thank you for including us to this point and if there's anything that we can do for you, some other idea that is a lead off from this, we want this wrap up to be an invitation for an engagement as part of our tribe to continue on together.
Yeah. We are so delighted and we'd like you to take just a moment to be with yourself. You completed this course. You made it all the way through. You looked at some really challenging things. You've tapped on some stuff. Just be with yourself for a moment and send appreciation to your whole body and realize you did a good job.
