This is a YouTube video titled "Sleep Now - 2.1 - Time To Go To Bed" containing a monologue or talk from June 12, 2015, discussing people's feelings and resistance about going to bed, including reflections on how sleep was treated in childhood by parents. The speaker shares personal insights about bedtime routines and emotional responses to sleep.
How do you feel about going to bed? A lot of us have a lot of resistance, frustration. We have all the stuff pulling at us from the day, but we have that I don't want to go to bed feeling. I don't hear many people say oh, thank goodness I get to go to bed. And we'd like you to start by looking as we did in the last video at the beginning. How was sleep treated for you? How did your parents handle sleep? I know my parents as well, meaning as they were, they loved us. They wanted to go do good jobs with us, but they were tired sometimes and they just wanted us to go to sleep. They didn't want another bedtime story. They didn't want to get another glass of water. There was not going to be another trip to the bathroom. It was go to sleep now. And I know that I sometimes have that inner resistance that.
