Sleep Now - 2.5 - Visualization - Transitioning

This is a YouTube video titled "Sleep Now - 2.5 - Visualization - Transitioning" featuring a guided sleep visualization led by Rick Wilkes. The content, created in June 2015, involves a single speaker guiding listeners through a calming body awareness and relaxation exercise to prepare for sleep.
Transitioning to sleep. Take this opportunity to recognize that you have a choice. And in this moment, you're choosing to transition your body from active engagement with tasks and work and people into a place where every part of you is tuning for the release and the refreshment and the nourishment and the recharging of your energy that comes so naturally through the sleep process. When we give it a chance, and right now, we're going to give our body a chance. I'd like you to put your hands over your heart and just wait a moment and feel the rhythm of your heartbeat and your breathing. And in your mind, send appreciation to your heart and let it know that you're preparing for rest, that it can tune itself to the rhythm of preparing for sleep. And now move your hands to your knees and give them a little massage. Some gentle appreciation for all that they've carried today. The powerful movement providing balance while you sit. From the palm of your hands, radiate energy down your legs, your toes, and let them wiggle a little bit, like they're unwinding the tension of walking steps after steps. Feel the ball of your foot press into the floor and relax. Deep breath and come back up to your belly and put your hands on your belly. Your belly holds your organs, who provided you with hormones and processing and all the activities of the day. And they're ready for the night shift. They're ready to switch modes to help you recharge your energy. Give them permission, invitation and appreciation. Give them a gentle, gentle pat or squeeze. You may notice emotions start coming up. If so, just be with it for a moment. Recognize that your body needs to unwind that feeling before rest. Now move your hands to the top of your head. Your brain has really been going today. It's been seeing things and hearing things, smelling things, tasting things, analyzing, processing, solving problems, avoiding engaging, focusing. Thank you, brain. Wow. And give it permission through your hands and your attention. Let the heart speak to it too. It's okay to switch to the night shift, the sleep shift, to unwind the tensions. If you feel that there's a burden in your head that needs to be unwound or released, see what it wants. Does it want to write it down? Does it want to make a sound? Does it want to speak something out loud? If you like your ears pulled, now might be a time that you can gently pull on your ears. I find that pulling on the ears is a way of really letting the body know. Okay, this is time to transition. Gently pat your collarbone points with soft fingers. Let your the muscles of your hands and your forearms and your shoulders, your chest. Relax and soften as you gently pat or tap or just hold that point, those points. Take a breath and then just notice in your body, is there some part of you that wants to move, roll, express itself. Check your back, your low back, your tail. Let your tail soften, maybe wag a little, curl around and now yawn and stretch out your fingers and your arms. If you want to do that. Roll your wrists and make your getting ready for bed noise.
