Day 1 of a New Sport.

The video documents the inaugural day of the Custodian Games, a newly created experiential competition that blends sport, personal development, and regenerative stewardship. Hosted by David and facilitated by Robert Gladitz and other participants (Naomi, Dakota, Lisa, and various speakers), the event takes place in a sustainably designed arena that treats wastewater, grows its own food, and serves homemade kombucha, embodying the custodial values of the games. The launch introduces three foundational pillars: the physical arena (global in‑person events), a media house (storytelling engine across formats), and an online campus (AI‑guided community platform). A $10 million Global Regenerative Fund grant is the central challenge, prompting each custodian to present a venture they would steward with the money. The day consists of four embodied quests—Forgiveness, Interbeing, Emotional Fluidity, and Spontaneity—each designed to surface vulnerability, collaboration, and personal archetype expression. Participants share personal stories (e.g., Robert’s forgiveness of his mother, Naomi’s guided meditation) and compete for points; scores are announced (Dakota 174, Robert 165, Naomi 163, Lisa 150) with Dakota advancing to the finals and later being named Guardian of the Day. Throughout, speakers reflect on community cohesion, the transformative potential of the games, and the integration of personal archetypes (Guardian, Romantic, Genius). The video concludes with gratitude, a call to action for viewers to step into the arena, and an invitation for comments.
Chapters
Compassion, empathy, open heart. I know it's hard. Some march on the boulevard, some build, some pull apart. Some blame, some do their part. Bring light when we're in the dark. Stuck between a rock and a hard place. Scarface, burnt arms, it's alarming.
I feel so amazing.
We're finally starting on this epic adventure. I'm super excited.
Everybody's excited. And then later this afternoon, we're gonna prepare, set up the space, go through the whole— go through the whole agenda, finish the last preparations, and then we're ready for the games tomorrow. It's the perfect Custodian Games location. Like, how they built the whole place is ins— like, it's the manifestation in physical place of custodianship. Like how they treat the wastewater, the materials they use, how they grow most of the ingredients for the kitchen themselves on their own farm.
It's just perfect.
Also the kombucha, right? Also the kombucha. We got a homemade kombucha for a welcome drink. Like, this says everything, I think.
Are you excited?
I'm super excited. Holy shit. And I'm very nervous.
We have something to cheer because this is the official birth of the Custodian Games brand into the world. So far, nobody that is not either part of this circle or will attend our event tomorrow knows about anything that's going on. And this will change now.
We are online.
I'm so excited. Oh my God, like for the past 12 years I put so many projects out there into the world, like ranging from here to there to there to there, and I launched many new babies, but none of them felt as special as the Custodian Games. It feels like all the aspects of me, of my 35 years already traversing this plane, like coming together in one endeavor.
So yeah. It is 10:30 now.
I spent a lot of time rehearsing and preparing. The more I do that, the more excited I get for tomorrow, for our first ever Custodian Games. And I can tell you, nothing I ever created utilized more of who I am than this. This moment here will have ripple effects far and wide beyond this space.
I can tell you.
Good morning! The big day is here. It arrived finally, Custodian Games. We're about to start. Final prep is taking place. The whole arena is already set up. Our custodians are about to arrive in 1 minute, says the schedule. And I feel that what will happen today here in this arena will be very impactful.
Welcome to the first Custodian Games. I guess you want to share some, some introductory words.
I'd love to. I'd love to. Thank you, David. If my life's journey taught me one thing, through the game of football, through card games, the game of entrepreneurship, through every other game I ever played, it's this: the best way to grow is by stepping into the arena frequently, by testing myself, by measuring my capabilities against other practitioners who are on the same journey as I am on. So today, fully and publicly, with all of you witnessing that, I will step into this arena for the first ever Custodian Games.
Break down my walls, but I will rise again, 'cause I stand tall in my environment.
You are the 4 Custodians and our main protagonists of the games. You will co-opete in a blend of competitive and collaboration quests against and with each other. A thriving future does not emerge by chance, it must be stewarded. And this will only happen when those who carry the deepest Custodial values learn to excel in the game of power as it currently exists. The quest: the Global Regenerative Fund has opened $10 million grant, a venture capable of shifting humanity's trajectory. Each custodian is invited to present the venture they are building or are committed to bringing into reality and show how they would steward a grant of this magnitude. 3, 2, 1.
Peter Diamandis, one of the One of the most prolific entrepreneurs of our time says that the world's greatest problems are the world's greatest business opportunities. And I think we all can agree that the biggest problem of our times is arguably the global meta crisis. So my response is the Custodian Games. The Custodian Games are built on 3 pillars. The first pillar is the arena. These are like in-person events in places like these. I see an arena schedule in different locations all around the world where like in January there's an event in Australia and then in February there's an event in New York and in March there's an event in Nairobi and in April there's an event in Bali and so on. And people like all over the world can compete, co-opete in these arena events. And then the second pillar is the media house. This is the storytelling engine. It's because I think the custodian games have the potential. If you see it, if you feel it, be it in a long-form Netflix documentary or on a short-form Instagram story or whatever to be like so different from all the content that you see out there where people are just sitting on a table and talking for a 3-hour podcast conversation. But I'm always asking myself like, okay, nice that you're talking, but like, do you actually embody the things that you are talking about? So show me, like, step into the arena and prove that. And the third component is the campus. There needs to be an online platform where anyone, anywhere in the world can find other custodians in their area to play the games together through an AI-guided individualized process in the campus, you're guided through this experience that is a mix between like community bonding and at the same time personal development. And everybody goes home and be like, oh my God, this is one of the greatest Sundays I ever had.
Robert, your time is over. Dakota will take the stage now.
A $10 million fund, which is a small amount of money, can be used to create a self-propelling economic ecosystem. And one of the means to do that is we need to get back to the basics. Food, water, and earth. And so there are a myriad of brownfields and protected lands. Those lands can be easily aggregated and put into a community land trust.
Time is over! Your first game, you did amazing! Woo!
Time for the second quest. Please face each other again. Forgiveness. A custodian must walk through life with a light heart. When we hold on to old pain, judgment, or resentment, our energy becomes heavy and our potential narrows. This quest invites each custodian to soften the weight they carry by meeting a past wound with presence, honesty, and compassion.
Hi, Mom. One summer where your Symptoms kicked in a lot and you turned against me and my brother. And in contrast to all my other friends, the two of us, we were not allowed to go out. We were not allowed to meet our grandma. We were not allowed to have ice cream. We were not allowed to to have pocket money. There were many things we had to do that were not appropriate for a child. When I look back on my journey, I understand how this summer really impacted me on my journey. When I reflect on that, there's still a lot of pain, and at the same time A lot of gratitude and a lot of understanding because I know that you always did your best and you did so much more than any son could ask for. I would like to express my forgiveness for that summer even though that's hard for me.
Thank you, Robert. Thank you. And I have forgiven my mother for quite a while, and I don't think I've fully forgiven you for that. So I'm sorry.
The pressure cooker. Let's grab the ball. 1, 2, 3, let's go!
If you never risk it, then you'll never know. If it's holding you back, you gotta let it go. You gotta give it all you got, you gotta let them know. You are on another level, you are ruthless. Switch it up, it's the new flex.
Our last quest: Interbeing. Many dimensions of the metacrisis stem not from a lack of intelligence or resources, but from an inability to effectively collaborate. Everything we need already exists. What we lack is the capacity to sense one another, to attune across differences, and to act as one coherent field. The quest: each custodian has 5 minutes to bring the entire space into coherence. How they do this is completely up to them.
Alright, please get up everybody and come together for a small circle. Like this, like this. Good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good. I need you guys for this. I cannot do this myself. Unity is the natural state, but we always forget that. And in my experience, two things that bring us back to this natural state is vulnerability, because if we express vulnerability and we see vulnerability, then we realize we actually want. So what I'd like to create is a space where each one of us is invited to share something vulnerable, something that we probably would not share with other people whom we don't know. And at the same time, we feel courageous to do that.
Supporters, please cast the votes.
I felt so in the, like, in the zone. I think that's the beauty of, like, like sports, that we feel in the zone and we fully immerse ourselves and are in the flow. And this was so diverse, like all the 4 quests were designed so diversely, and I think they require different parts of us. And each of them was beautiful in their unique way. I will definitely treasure our ball fight for a long time. But all of them, it was It was just so nice, and I felt really, really held by all of you and by all of your involvement and by your presence, and especially moved by the interbeing quest that we shared in the end, that within a couple of minutes, people who mostly don't know each other tap into this field.
Our first custodian, Robert Gladitz. Scored 165 points. Our second custodian, Dakota, scored 174 points and will advance to the finals! Naomi scoring 163 points. Lisa scoring 150 points, which means Naomi will move to the finals.
This concludes our first two custodian games, and I'm blown away by what happened here in this space. Not only what our 4 custodians brought to the table, but the whole supporter crew. Everybody was so involved, and like, most people didn't knew each other beforehand, but already in the couple of hours, the strength of community and connection that emerged, so beautiful. I think everybody took something away from the two games that we played where I'm like, oh wow, here am I invited to grow because this quest that they played would have been quite difficult for me. Oh wow, this I probably would have done really well because of the work that I did in the past. So it's a mirror, it's a mirror, not only for our Ford custodians, it's a mirror for everybody in the room. And after lunch we have the finals, which will be very exciting. But first, amazing food by the entire crew. Mm-hmm.
First quest of the finals is a new vision for humanity. Throughout history, the world has been changed by those rare individuals who could unite both imagination and practicality in the same breath. Mandela did not only imagine a free South Africa, he wove a bridge between what was and what could be. Most people lean to one side, the dreamers, who cannot operationalize, and the pragmatists who cannot dream. But the challenges of our time demand a different kind of leader. One who can hold the beauty of an inspiring future while speaking concretely in how we get there.
As a humanity, on a meta-level, we're beginning to see we take action or we die. And it seems like there's not coordinated action because there's not quite yet.
I would like everyone to close your eyes for a moment. Picture a newborn baby in your hands, in your arms, and you feel this baby's heartbeat.
We can create a world that's better than we could ever possibly imagine. Specific ways that we actualize that, I think, is very much like Custodia and Custodian Games. That's why I'm here.
And the truth of everything in the system is not new, it's actually old. Thank you!
Emotional fluidity. Most people are not limited by a lack of emotion, but by a lack of fluidity. We get stuck in one emotion, trapped in one inner weather pattern, or held in a narrow emotional range that shapes how we show up in the world. But a custodian must be able to move freely. Let's go! The burden of life. Every human being carries weight, responsibilities, expectations, duty. The quiet pressure that accumulates over time.
4, let's go! 6 minutes! Come on! Spread your elbows! Hey, he made 1 minute! This amazing! Let's go! Come on, let's go! Already enough! Come on! Oh man! 2, 1, let it go! Wow, that was impressive!
How does it feel?
Feel better now. Definitely losing feeling in my hand, but it's all about the mind.
The last quest is called The Art of Spontaneity. Life rarely gives us perfect conditions. We are handed unexpected moments New challenges, surprising invitations, and what we create in those moments reveals far more about our leadership than anything we prepare for. Some people freeze when the script disappears. Custodians must do the opposite. Meet the unknown with openness, turn surprises into meaning, and allow creativity to arise from surrender, a strength, not a weakness.
Protection. That's perfect.
Joy.
Regeneration, protection, joy.
Power, clarity, rooted. Power, clarity, rooted.
To distant times, things were not the same here. There was a difference in this land. It was no longer a land of joyousness. It was a land of pollution. It was a land of disconnection, and Joy felt unprotected and wondering in this new land what could be done until she met a serpent. And they searched deep and wide to find what is that spark, that spark of energy that we all have inside of ourselves, a spark of energy that can bring into a world something better than we've ever known before. They found a new type of matter, a matter that was always disregarded, dirty, and they found that that matter, when organized in just the right way, with just the right light could create change in one's hands. A world of hope. A world where fairness became a phone for everybody. And together with these phones, these fair, fair phones, they discovered in their hands that change was possible. Because joy, when we protect her, becomes something new, becomes something we call the Fairphone. And the Fairphone allows us to connect with one another in ways we would never imagine.
Together.
The change is in your hands.
I would like to honor our 4 custodians Naomi, Dakota, Lisa, Robert, for signing up for this, for showing the courage, for showing the trust, for showing— yeah, for, for, for, for giving your all. The Guardian of the Day representing the physical realm. The Guardian of the Day goes to Robert Gladitz. We have Naomi with 325 points, and we do have Dakota with 348 points. And Dakota will be the custodian of this day.
Can you—
[APPLAUSE] [MUSIC] What comes to my mind is like Ruby in The Guardian. I thought that was really powerful.
The genius which you just spoke of is something that was most challenging for me today. I think what for me comes most easy and most natural are all the genius quests. We can't outgenius everything, even though we can outgenius a lot, but many things not. And yeah, that's why I'm I would say like my current developmental focus is in the intersection of the Romantic and of the Guardian archetype. And that's why I feel very proud to be the Guardian of the day.
I found that the most challenging pieces were around the emotional today because there's like— it didn't feel like home turf. Like the mental side, the genius side, that feels very natural.
I really enjoyed how you managed to turn intangible things like emotional intelligence and mysticism into competition, because I love competition.
Well, first of all, what you did with this custodian game, I feel you outlined the qualities of a custodian immaculately. For me, I could really resonate and look back at my own journey here in Bali, and I felt proud of myself. I felt like I could do all of these things except this water bong.
The whole process of creating this in the last 2 weeks was very much like, for me, like the Custodians Games, which was like a very holistic test and stretch of the embodiment of my archetypes.
Thank you so much. I would like to give a really, really big, big shout out again to Antalya, to this beautiful place that hosted us so well. I, yeah, I said that to almost everybody here. I could not imagine like a place that was better suited to host the first edition of the Custodian Games than this place.
I'm really wasted. I cannot speak, I cannot move, so that means the games were good. I'm so grateful for everybody involved for making this happen, for planting this seed that over the next months and years and decades will blossom more and more and more and more and grow into a worldwide global movement that unites people and that grows Custodians. That's the path forward. All right, thank you for watching. See you guys in the next video, and please share your comments below. What did the custodian game stir up inside yourself, and would you be brave enough to step into the arena?
Let us know.
