(a how-to)" (created 2026-05-26) featuring a promotional/educational monologue by Ruth Schwartz, director of the Conscious Girlfriend Academy. The speaker (Ruth Schwartz) describes the Academy’s lesbian/queer dating retreats and curriculum—an August retreat in the Catskill Mountains focused on lesbian dating essentials and a November members-only retreat at a 104-acre private hot springs resort in Palm Springs. She frames the retreats as affordable, community- and growth-oriented spaces for women who love women (sapphic people, roughly ages 30–80), emphasizing affirmation, friendship, skills for dating, recovery from breakups/toxic relationships, and non-hookup, low/no-alcohol, no-drugs environments with activities like music, dancing, campfires, swimming, hiking, and learning. The clip is promotional and instructional rather than a dialogue.

So here's the thing, being a lesbian woman-loving woman can feel a little lonely because most people in the world are heterosexual. I know, I don't understand it either, but it seems to be the case. And so even though some of my best friends are straight, there are times where I just need to gather with other women who love women and feel affirmed and make friends and learn skills for smart-for-your-heart lesbian dating. And yes, sometimes maybe even meet somebody special. All of those things and many more happen at the Conscious Girlfriend Academy retreats. We have one coming up in August in the Catskill Mountains in New York that is a lesbian dating essentials curriculum. And we have one coming up in November for Academy members only in Palm Springs, California at a 104-acre private hot springs resort, which is going to be amazing. And we keep our retreats super affordable. So if you're looking for more community, more friendship, more connection, just to get a spark going in your life again, if you're trying to get over a breakup, a toxic relationship, if you just really need something new and enlivening and happy-making in your life as a lesbian, queer person, a sapphic person, um, anywhere between your 30s to your 80s, you will be so welcome. Most of our retreat attendees tend to be single. We do have a few wonderful couples who come also, and everybody who comes is growth-oriented and really open to connection. Our retreats are different from a lot of what happens in the lesbian queer community. There is either no or very little alcohol. There are no drugs. It's not a hookup culture. It's really open-hearted connection and music and dancing and campfires and s'mores and swimming and hiking and learning. I'm Ruth Schwartz. I'm the director of the Conscious Girlfriend Academy. People call me a visionary in lesbian love education. I'm the author of the leading book, Conscious Lesbian Dating and Love. And I teach at these retreats, and I love these retreats, and I think you will too. So I hope you will check out a Conscious Girlfriend Academy retreat very soon. See you soon.
