Creating Product Modifiers in SalesVu

Learn how to set up product modifiers like size and color in SalesVu to track inventory variants. The video walks through creating modifier groups, using the merge option to generate a SKU matrix, and adjusting quantities so the POS and online store deduct from the right variant.
Hi. In this video, I'm going to show you how to use modifiers in SalesVu. Now, what modifiers do is they help you create different options for certain products. For example, an add on option to the base product, such as cream to coffee. In this case, I'm going to show you how to use modifiers to create multiple inventory units for a single product. And we're going to use a T shirt as an example so that we can keep track of what different sizes of the T shirt we have in our inventory. So to create a new product with modifiers, you need to go to features and products and services, which is where we at right now. You need to click on add product. So to create a new product, you need to fill out this short form. So you're going to put in the name, the price. If you have a picture, you can plot that as well. And you also need to select the category. In this case, we already have a women's tops category and the inventory setting because we do want to track this in inventory by items. And now on to the modifiers. So the modifier group, we're going to add a new group and it's going to be called size. And I'm going to click more and I'm going to merge this. So this merge option will actually create those new inventory units that we're going to keep track of. And our sizes will be small, medium, and large. And you can notice that if you wanted to, you could also put in any extra cost for a specific option. You could also create another modifier group such as color. And I'm going to merge this one as well. And we're going to create the gray one and blue. So what we just did right now is we created a matrix of different options for this one product. So now instead of keeping track of what number of T shirts we have, we'll be able to see see broken down by what kind of size it is and what kind of color it is. So if we go and we check the inventory now, we'll be able to see all these different options. So here we are. This is what we created. We can see the quantity is currently zero because it's just been created. Different sizes and different color options are here listed as well. You can adjust inventory quantities before moving further. Now let me show you how to use this on your pos. So I'm going to select the product that we just created, the T shirt. And here I can select the different options. So I'm going to select a medium and it's going to be gray and we can see the selected options here in this area in the order total. So once I accept the payment for this, this medium grade T shirt will be deducted from inventory. Now if you're also using our e commerce feature and sell your products online, your customers will have the same options right here as we just had on the pos. So you can again select the size option and the color option and buy this and this will get deducted from your inventory. So I hope this video helped you understand how to use modifiers and if you have any questions, please give us a call. Thanks.
