Hey, this is S.E. Day with the Small Business Credit Minute. I wanted to drop in and give you 3 signs you're not lender ready yet and how to fix them fast. If you're applying for business loans or funding and you keep getting denied, or you're getting offered terrible terms, there's usually one simple reason: you're not lender ready yet. In the next 3 minutes, I'm gonna give you 3 signs lenders see as red flags, plus how to fix each one of them fast. Sign number 1, you don't have a standalone business bank account. If your business account, if your business money is flowing through your personal account, or you're mixing your personal and business transactions, lenders usually see this as messy, risky, and hard to verify. Because when underwriting looks at your bank statements, they want to answer one question: is this a real business with consistent income and responsible money management? If they can't answer that question, you're in trouble. A quick fix? Open a business checking account under your legal business name and run all of your business income and expenses through it. Then give it time to tell a story, a clean story. Ideally, consistent deposits, stable balances, controlled spending, and no constant overdrafts. One thing to remember, if your money isn't separate, your business isn't credible. Second, you're not operating a properly structured business registered with the Secretary of State. If you're taking payments under a nickname, under an unregistered name, or a never-formed LLC, you're missing key items. Lenders often treat you like a hobby and not a real business. Most lenders want your business identity to match across board— across the board. You're talking about Your legal entity records, your tax ID number, your business bank account, contracts, invoices, and your online presence. All right, quick fix: go legit. Make your registered business with the state in your business name, your correct business name, and make sure your entity is in good standing. If you use a different public name, File the appropriate paperwork with the registered— with your state registered office. One thing to remember is if the state can't verify your business, the lenders won't trust your business. It's that simple. Sign number 3, let's be real. If you have a negative cash flow, they won't take you seriously. Lenders don't lend money based on dreams. They lend based on your repayment ability. If your business brings in $20,000 a month and you're spending $22,000 a month, you're upside down. And even if revenue looks good, negative cash flow tells lenders you could miss payments. Quick fix: cut or pause nonessential expenses for 30 to 60 days before you apply for a loan. Increase your cash in, raise prices, add a quick offer, tighten collections. And number 3, most importantly, track your expenses weekly. Revenue is a weekly game, not a monthly game. Revenue is vanity. Cash flow is real. That's survival. So if you don't have a standalone business, you're not properly registered with the Secretary of State's office, or you're running a negative cash flow, fix these and you will dramatically see an increase in your approval odds, uh, and you get better terms. And if you can't get this handled You can attend our upcoming boot camp. We'll take you step by step through this. The boot camp is in January.
