Sean Buttler argues that commitment is caring for yourself and others. When survival mode shrinks your vision, you lose purpose. Start future-focused conversations with friends or colleagues to spark dreaming instead of dwelling on bad news.

Foreign. This is Sean Butner with Start your day with a high performance coach. Hope you guys are excited. This week we've been talking about commitments. First we talked about consistency, then we talked about necessity yesterday, a bit. Today we're going to talk about caring. So if you, you're new or you're here, say hi. We'd love to hear from you. Trying to build out this community. So please do check that out. Anyways, so, yeah, necessity. What? Why are we talking about necessity? Well, it's one of. Or not necessity. Commitment. Commitment is super important to your performance right now because, you know, with the world being anxious and fearful, it can seem. It can shrink people's vision for their future. So when you're not thinking long term, when you're. You're getting into survival mode, that's when you kind of get into that sense of dread. You know, you don't have anything to be excited about as you go out in the world. And so what we want to do is make sure that you have that set of, you know, that commitment to your future, that commitment to your relationships, that commitment to yourself, to. To be your best in this moment, so that when things start to open back up and get back to normal, you can, you know, accelerate quicker than everyone else around you, because that would be nice. So. And I'm not trying to downplay the seriousness of everything that's going on with the economy, with the pandemic and all that stuff. I feel like I always have to say that because, like, you know, some people that are being horribly impacted by that, you know, if you've had a family member or friend sick, that can be a very, very terrible experience. And, you know, we need to be able to deal with that. But more often than not, you know, having that commitment to your future gives you that purpose, provides that meaning in your life that can make being cooped up inside or stressful or less stressful. It can make you help you get moving into your future. So that said, you know, the title of today's video is that commitment is caring. Because when you commit to your relationships, like whether you get married, whether you have a close friendship, whether it's, you know, family, whether it's when you're committed to making those relationships as best as you possibly can, a lot of people find that meaning in service to others. So historically, if you look at personal development, a lot of it is doing awesome things for other people in business. It's providing value for other people. So maybe you're committing to your customers or your team, but the sense of caring and commitment to others, which I think is caring is super important. So today, just the quick thing that you can do today is you go out and talk to somebody, just ask them about what is in their future, right? If they can get past the hurdles that we currently have, the short term hurdles, what would their ideal future be? Because when you get people thinking about the future, you get people dreaming again. You get people thinking like a little bit past the, the day to day stuff, that's is super important. But the things that they can be doing to be working towards their future, that could be that sense of hope, could be that sense of inspiration, could be that sense of, okay, there's, there's things I could be doing right now to help build that. And I think that's super important right now. So, yeah, ask your loved ones at dinner tonight, you know, call up a friend on the phone or do a video conference thing and just ask them like, you know, what are you working towards in the next year, the next two years? What are your hopes? What are your dreams? Just have, listen and have that inspiring conversation. Because I think we need to have a little bit more of that and a little bit less talk about the news, a little bit less talk about how everything is going south, you know, going to. So if you like that, guys, I do want to let you know today is going to be the last day for a little bit. I have a couple more slots open for strategy sessions. So if you wanted a curriculum that'll walk you through and personalize a plan for you to help you go out there and you know, start that business, build that course, online course, if you're doing that. I have some clients that are doing that. You know, wanted to start that organization, wanted to think, how do you get into that new job? Or you're just like, hey, like I have no idea how to reflect. I would just love someone to kind of talk through my life and help me figure out where I might want to go next, have a little bit more clarity. You'll want to go to SeanButner.com coaching to sign up for the assessment. And then after the assessment we can do the, the one hour strategy session. So it's. People absolutely love this hour. They love the questionnaire. It just gets you thinking about your life in a way that you might not normally unless you're in the high performance space like me. So definitely go check that out guys and we'll talk to you tomorrow morning. Okay? Go out there and inspire people, okay? Just show that you care. Show that you're listening. You know, encourage them to think of the future, and we'll go from there. Okay, guys, take care.
