Foreign. Hey, good morning, everyone. Welcome to start your day. Great. Start your day with a coach. I am your certified high performance coach, Sean Butner. And today we're talking about clear our clarity. So it's Monday. I almost tried to combine Monday and clarity into one word. It's Monday. What are your Monday motivators? Something we talked about last week. But more importantly, if you've ever felt listless, if you've ever felt like you didn't know what the future held for you, you felt a little bit uncertain about what's going on, and we've all experienced a lot of that fairly recently. But if you're kind of like, I want to be more confident in chasing a job down and changing jobs and starting a business. I want to feel more confident on my team on how I add value and contribute. I want to feel more clear on how I'm showing up in the world and living into my own values, then this is the video for you today. So as a high performance coach and often talking to people about clarity, we know from the high performance research that this is one of the key points in feeling overall more productive and making better decisions and just living a better life is how clear are you on yourself about yourself, about how you interact with the world and what you want out of it and how to get about getting after it. So it's something that, you know, like I said, I talk about a lot and it's something I, I felt before the high performance stuff that I started to study. Like, I didn't really think about clarity too much. Like, I kind of always knew what I wanted out of my career, but I didn't always know, you know, how to get, you know, the, the steps to move forward and progress in my career. I kind of went with, like, I think I'm interested in this early on and that served me and building skills, but it also, I think burnt me out in a way that would not have had I been a little bit more clear on what I wanted in, in my career in tech, right, which is why I left, you know, corporate America twice and started my own business and all that I would, wouldn't change the world for it. You know, there's things that you have to learn. But that feeling of like, how did I get here in my life and how do I, you know, move on from here, right, that sounded a little bit more dramatic. But like you've ever woke up living somebody else's life. You know, you're told that you need to get the good job and, you know, to cover your bills and stuff. And you're like, but my quality of life is crap. So have you ever been there in that particular, like, feeling? Then how do you proceed? Right? And it's this basic and common sense thing of, well, what do you really want out of your life? What are you really hoping for? What are you really excited about in your future? And you have to activate that part of your psychology in order to, you know, be able to, to continue to move through that. So like I said earlier, early on my career, I was super stressed and super burnt out because I was putting in all these hours and I didn't know why. And it's, you know, like when you own your own business, it's a lot different because, you know, the work that you put into it is directly benefiting you, putting your message out into the world, which is awesome. So it's a little bit different, like, type of motivation. So here's the thing, right? You need to know who you are and the things that you value. So in high performance, we have this three word exercise where all, like a lot of celebrities, a lot of people that are at the top of their game have this for themselves, where it's three words that define the best of who you are and what you're trying to live into. So for me, my, my three words are creative. The they are present and they are creative, optimistic. Creative, present, optimistic. So when I am living my best self, I am seeing, you know, the, the best parts of how things can work out, especially when things are really tough. You know, it's something that I learned from my mom and my dad. You know, having a lot of medical issues, like, it was always, hey, you know, like, this is tough now, but we'll find the things to laugh about, we'll continue on because we have to move on, you know, and sometimes that necessity, you know, can help pull you through. But it really changed how we all as a family approached things that were like, pretty serious, like, you know, cancer treatments or, you know, my dad had a wall fall on him and so he was out of work for like six months because he couldn't walk, you know, that kind of stuff. And we made the best out of it. And so that's why being optimistic is important to me, especially when you're facing adversity, presence. You know, as a coach, I need to listen, I need to be in the moment a lot more. And so I'm always trying to ground myself in what's going on around me because it's good for my profession and you enjoy life a little bit more and then, you know, creative. It's a lot of the reason why I chose to get into programming or to start a business. It's to, you know, actually get into the. The business of making things. So I think that's really important. I've always felt that's really important. I love the adage that what's the guy, the Mythbuster guy on Twitter. Just. Or just try this, I think is what his handle is. Jamie. Anyways, he has this mantra of create the things that you love. So if you love, you know, he does a lot of props and stuff, but like, if there's a certain food that you love, like, learn how to get really excellent at making that kind of rambling here. But those are what my three words are to. To sum it up, right, so what are your three words? What three words best describe you? How you show up in the world, what you hope your best self would be described as from your family and friends and the folks around you. And it's such a simple thing, but when you can live into those three words, everyday things get a little bit clearer for you on what the next step should be, what you should be doing and the things of that nature.
