In this motivational monologue, certified high‑performance coach Shawn Buttner encourages listeners to start the week with disciplined, joyful energy. He frames Monday as a choice point: either approach the day with excitement, zest, and purpose, or succumb to stress and sluggishness. Buttner identifies common internal obstacles—self‑doubt, uncertainty, and the impulse to “play small”—and urges listeners to “wrangle” these voices so they don’t derail personal growth. He introduces two simple daily questions—what are you excited for today, and what are you looking forward to—to prime a positive mindset. He illustrates how to embed joy into routine through concrete examples such as practicing guitar, exercising, or connecting with friends, emphasizing that even small, consistent actions boost morale. The coach also addresses job‑searchers, noting that managing disappointment, overwhelm, and rejection hinges on maintaining daily joy‑building habits. He challenges the audience to identify one joyful activity for the day and promises that this focus will improve the week. The video concludes with a call to engage (comments, likes, subscription) and an invitation to schedule a one‑on‑one strategy session via SeanButner.com for deeper coaching support.

High performance coach and I help people level up their lives so they can live the lives that they want and have a higher quality of life. Now today we're talking about, it's Monday. We're talking about how are you keeping disciplined this week for the rest of the month and then going forward into 2021? Because the start of another week is upon us. And, you know, do you feel that energy, that excitement, that zest, that jubilance of getting out there in the world and doing your thing, putting your good out there? Or are you already starting the week feeling stressed and sluggish and low? And we get to choose our energy each day and we can choose to listen to the voices in our head that help us feel more alive and vibrant or that, you know, take that away from us. So if you have the voice of self doubt, I'm here to cheer you on and say you don't have to listen to that voice. If you have the voice of uncertainty that you don't know how things are going to play out, so why bother? I'm here to cheer you on and say it's worth the fight. It's worth fighting for that energy and that feeling of being alive. Because we all have these voices and impulses in our heads at different times in our lives and it's our job to wrangle them to make sure they don't stop our progress towards a better self, better relationships or better lives. So what is good and important to you today? You know, how can you focus on that good so that those forces telling us to play small don't win? And essentially it's how are you setting up your psychology every morning? As a certified high performance coach, we talk a lot about this. It's one of my favorite things to do is to help people figure out how to feel more in their life. And really feeling more in your life comes down to two questions. And that is, what are you excited for today in this week? And you know, what are you looking forward to today? It's two really basic questions, kind of the same things. But, you know, looking forward to and being excited for what's coming into the day will help you feel better earlier in the morning, earlier into the week. And if you don't have something to look forward to or something that you're super excited about, the question that is, what could you be focusing on or get excited about? What could you add in? Could you schedule a call with some of your good friends? Could you do something like go for a run at a special spot where you don't know that just brings you joy or are you doing things that bring you joy every day? What's your routine to consistently connect to that excitement with that feeling, fully alive feeling that we all have. So if, you know, for me, I really love playing guitar, and so I have time to practice every day, to write music every day, even if it's not good, it's something I absolutely love doing and feel like a better person every time that I've done that. So it could be something as simple as that or talking with some special people or just doing something that you know will raise your spirits and keep you fighting. Because, you know, I've talked a lot with folks this past couple of months, you know, have lost jobs. And if you're doing the job search, it's not the skill of finding a job. A lot of times is how are you managing the disappointment? How are you managing the, you know, overwhelm? How are you managing the rejection? And part of that is to have that daily routine where you're building joy for yourself. So I challenge you with this, my friends. What are you doing today that's bringing you joy that you're excited about, that you're looking forward to? And that's the one thing you got to do on a Monday, right? Figure that out today, figure that out for this week. And I know you'll have a better week. So thanks again for being on the show. I'll see you guys tomorrow at the same time and start your day with a coach and let me know what you think. Comment, subscribe like below. And if you need a little bit more help, maybe one on one finding that sense of joy, you can always go to SeanButner.com coaching to sign up for a strategy session where we'll sit down and we can brainstorm together if you need that extra time. So thank you guys so much. See you tomorrow. And.
