In this solo motivational coaching video, certified high‑performance coach Sean (Shawn) Buttner reflects on Memorial Day, honoring military service and the broader idea of being of service to community and the world. He then transitions to his regular "Motivation Monday" routine, presenting three core journaling questions to structure the upcoming week: (1) What are you looking forward to most? (2) What is your number‑one focus? (3) What obstacles might arise and how will you navigate them? He explains how anticipating excitement, pinpointing a primary goal, and planning contingencies boost motivation, reduce distraction, and keep progress on track. The coach encourages viewers to share the video, comment with questions, and engage with his "Six Secrets of High‑Performing Introverts" training, which includes a free one‑hour strategy session covering clarity, energy, courage, productivity, and influence, potentially leading to a coaching relationship. The video closes with a reminder to tune in for the next episode and a sign‑off encouraging more joy, personal growth, and community impact.

Sa. Sam. Sa. Sa. Sam. Foreign. Everyone, welcome to start your day. Great. Start your day with a coach. I am your coach and certified high performance coach, Sean Butner. Now, it's Memorial Day today, so happy Memorial Day. You know, it's a great time to remember, you know, people that have, you know, made ultimate sacrifice for the military, at least the here in the US that's, that's part of the idea. But, you know, got me thinking about my uncles. I've had some grandparents that have been in multiple branches of the army. And you know, what it means to have that act of service to the U.S. right? It takes a lot of sense of wanting to serve, an idea bigger than yourself, you know, And I think that's a really great idea to kind of keep in mind today and how to, you know, serve the communities, how to be of service to others, to the, you know, the US and in this case. But in general, to be a good world citizen, to really think about how to be in service and why sometimes you need to fight, and sometimes you need institutions, and sometimes you need just that, that sense of community, that sense of we're all in it together. Right? And so that's kind of where my head is at today on Memorial Day as we, you know, honor fallen soldiers and, and people that got into that position in order to serve. So that's that thought for today. Hopefully you guys are, you know, you, if you have family members that are past you, you know, you're dressing like addressing that. You're, you know, you have a moment to think about those folks. If you had people that are vets and came back, hopefully you're spending time with family and doing that whole thing, you know, usually grilling and stuff like that. Just, just hanging out with people and. Yeah, just remembering. Right. So didn't mean to start that off super, super heavy like that. So it is motivation Monday. So on top of today being, you know, Memorial Day, it's time to think about how we're going to get into your performance this week. And we do that with our Monday habit of asking ourselves the same three questions to get our heads right and get our week roughly planned so that we can make sure we go forward and crush it, go forth. So first question we always ask is, what are you looking forward to most this week? Right? Is there something fun? Is there something that you are really excited to do? Is there something you're really excited to learn about? Is there something that, you know, you really want to think about this week? And where. What can I look forward to? That might make some of the times when I might feel distracted or discouraged or just not super motivated. You know, sometimes having that future excitement, anticipating it can help us in this moment to get into action. So I love this question. Let's see. Second question we always ask is like, what is the number one focus this week? So hopefully you guys are have this in the journal. I forgot to mention that. But it's really good to be journaling about this every week. But we hold this space for you too to go through it. So what is the number one thing that must get accomplished for you to feel like you're progressing in your life? So, and how can you do that? You know, today, can you do it tomorrow, as soon as possible the next time you have a opportunity to do it? This one is just a good one to help you feel progress and to make sure that you're moving your life forward with important things and not just busy work. Which is why this question is great. And then finally, what might trip you up this week and how are you going to get around it? So this is if you know that you're going to be, you're gonna have your work interrupted because you have a doctor's appointment that's going to take all day and it's, you know, messing with your plans. Like how do you plan to move around that? Or you know that you might have the market might crash this week or might not crash this week, whatever, whichever way it goes that, you know, it does something unexpected and now what are you going to do about it? Right? So that's, that's the basic idea. And having these contingency plans really helps you get back into action or gets you into action quicker when that event happens and prevents you from trying to spend a lot of energy trying to figure out what to do in the middle of it when you might be really emotionally raw or upset or frustrated. And so it helps to get back on track quicker so you can move forward. So that's why we ask ourselves this question. And I absolutely love it. That's why we do this all the time on Monday. Motivation. So with that said, you do the social media thing. Share this with three friends if you would get the word out. Helps me. And then if you have any questions or comments, put those below. I like to inform what I talk about during the week from your questions and comments so you can influence some of the things that I talk about this week if.
