#SYDWAC - Motivation Monday! If You Are In Progress, You Are Winning!

In this live "Motivation Monday" episode, certified high‑performance coach Sean Butner welcomes viewers, asks them to subscribe and engage, and then walks them through his weekly ritual of three reflective questions designed to set a productive mindset for the week. He begins by acknowledging the fast passage of time in 2022 and reinforces a progress‑oriented mindset: even small, consistent forward movement equals winning. He outlines his personal philosophy of joy, growth, and impact, and stresses that learning replaces failure. The three core questions are: (1) What are you looking forward to this week? (2) What is your number‑one focus and when will you accomplish it? (3) What potential obstacles might arise and how will you mitigate them? Sean shares personal examples (dinner with friends, a Dungeons & Dragons session) to illustrate each question, encourages viewers to journal their answers, and stresses the discipline of revisiting these prompts weekly. The video concludes with calls to action: subscribe, share with three friends, watch a free training on "Six Secrets the World’s Highest‑Performing Introverts," and sign up for a complimentary one‑hour strategy session. The overall tone is upbeat, supportive, and instructional, aimed at fostering personal accountability, resilience, and incremental progress.

Hit the notification bell wherever you're watching this. If you have any questions, comment below the video. I love to engage and highlight the community and cheer you on if you're here. So, yeah, definitely, please do that. Now, that said, on this live show, it's Motivation Mondays, so we're getting ready for the week. We have this weekly ritual of asking ourselves the same three questions. And before we get into that, I just want to say it's May, guys. We are now five months into 2022, which is insane to me. I'm not sure if it's not what May snuck up on me or. But it's just that the year, the time is going by so quick. So I'm not sure if you're with me. So maybe you are. You know, you were with me when we did our New Year's Revolutions, and you're looking at your plan and you're crushing it, and. And you're feeling really good about the year. Maybe some things have gotten away and you're doing the work, you're sweating, you're, you know, got the blood, the tears, the effort, the consistent work, and you're not getting the results that you want. And maybe you're feeling a little bit frustrated. Well, I want to say, if that's you, if you're making progress, if you're moving the football forward, even it seems like it's just an inch every day, you are winning, right? It's that persistence and consistency and discipline that's really going to get results. And so stay the course, double down, don't let up. Don't let that frustration prevent you from persevering, from realizing the goals and success and the big dreams you had at the beginning of the year. Or, you know, maybe not just the beginning of the year, but, you know, keep making that progress, right? That's the name of the game. That's why in my business, it's joy, personal growth and impact, right? The second one is growth, because if we're learning, if we are able to really be present in our lives enough to know that there's no failure, it's only learning, it's only adjusting, it's only moving forward, that's how we can feel happier and that's how we ultimately have that greater impact. At least that's what I believe. So if you needed to hear that, awesome. If you didn't need to hear it, I'm still cheering you on. So that's what, you know, at least wanted to lead with that before we get into really making sure that this week will help us move, you know, ourselves forward, turn the dial on the things that we're working on and things that are important to us. So with that said, we'll get into the motivation 3. So the first question for the week, we ask every week on Monday to make sure that we are really setting our mindset for the week up properly is, you know, what are you really looking forward to this week? Right. It could be you have some hobbies or interests that you find meaning in, so you're going to go to that gardening convention on Thursday, or you're going to be in the backyard around a campfire playing music with your friends. Or it's whatever just fills up your cup. Right. Helps you feel energized, helps you feel connected to other people, helps you challenge your skills, challenge how you think about things, challenge how you know your capabilities. Right. That's kind of the word I was looking for. So what are you looking forward to this week? And if you don't have anything look forward to this week, what could you put on the schedule to look forward to this week? Right. And for me, you know, I got some dinners planned with some friends. I have a meeting. We're going to play some Dungeons and Dragons with my group of high school friends because we could do that on Zoom now. And I'm a big nerd, so I'm really stoked about that. And, you know, seeing those guys and just having, you know, joking around until we cry, we're laughing so much, you know, that type of thing. So, you know, I'm really, really stoked about that. You know? Yeah, I think that those are the big things that are coming to mind right in this moment. So what are those for you? You know, and make sure they're on the calendar. Right. Okay. Second thing, you know, what's the number one focus this week? Right. If you were to think at the end of the week, if I felt like I was making progress, if I felt like I've done something important that helped myself, my family, my organizations, my job, my team, that kind of thing, what would be the number one thing you have to do and when are you going to get it done? And it should be sooner than later. Like, that's just the high performance suggestion there. But, you know, if you know that you have to get that marketing plan finished this week, do it after this video. Right. Or do it as soon as you possibly can so that the rest of the week just feels like a bonus. Right. It's such a very nuanced psychological trick, but it really has helped me in my career, you know, when I worked at Apple, when I worked at Walmart as a software engineer or doing other tasks other than software. But it's such an important thing. Maybe, you know, I mean, taxes are over now, but maybe you need to get your taxes done so that you can breathe and, you know, not have that dread and administration hanging over your head. So that kind of stuff. But what is your number one focus this week? Where does it show up on your calendar if you want to go a little bit more advanced and deeper? If you looked at the last three weeks, did you know what your number one thing was each of those days? Because if not, then you have to keep coming back to Motivation Mondays. So. Because we're going to prompt you to really be thinking about that each week. So, okay, enough of that. The third question we always ask is, you know, what might trip you up this week or cause you to struggle or be a hurdle that will prevent you from moving forward, and what's your plan to mitigate it, to get around it? Right. And I absolutely love this question because it's all about, you know, building in resilience to the week. Because so many people I've noticed in corporate America or, you know, with other things that the organizations that I've worked with before it, so many people don't have that plan. And so when, you know, the meeting gets delayed when they have a big presentation, they are just super frustrated that things were inconvenient. Right. Something had to move because something came up or something changed and you're not able to be like in that moment, it can be trickier to be present, to be like, how? What's the energy I want to put into this situation? How do I want to adapt? And so that's a very, very important thing. And for me this week there's a, you know, some fun meetings and stuff that are coming up that's gonna kind of throw me out of my weekly rhythm. And so I just need to be very aware that that's gonna happen and try to front load some things or shuffle some things around so that I don't feel that disruption as much. Right. Something as simple as that. It could be like, oh, I Know that. Yeah, that somebody's gonna be out at work. Right. That could be another type of thing. And it's gonna triple my workload. How am I going to deal with it? You know, maybe a plan is like, I need a list of what I'm doing. I need a list of what they're doing. I'm gonna go talk to my manager and be like, I can do one page of stuff and here's two pages. What goes on the top of the pile? Right. It could be just kind of thinking through that and that little bit of if this happens, then that that rule is very important. Can mean the world between, you know, going through the week with grace, with a sense of joy, with a sense of confidence that you're doing your best and making your biggest impact and not so. All right, that's the show for today, guys. You know, make sure you journal about these three questions. You know, think about it a little bit more out there. Again, it's like, what are you looking forward to this week? What's the number one focus this week? And when are you gonna get it done and planned? And then what might trip you up and how are you gonna get around it? You know, again, this is a discipline. This is why we're doing motivation Monday, three each week. So come back for those and a little bit extra, just personal development, some optimism, some good energy out in the world because I think we really need it. So that's it, guys. Yeah. Make sure, again, do the social media thing. Like, subscribe, Share this with three friends who you think might have needed to hear this today. I'd love to connect and grow the community and you can be a part of that. So I do appreciate that. If you do share with a couple friends and one more thing, below this video or wherever you're watching this, you're going to see a link to a free video training called the Six Secrets the World's highest performing introverts. And this is taking my experience as an introvert in organizations plus my experience as a high performance coach. And I know you're like, maybe you're not an introvert. You seem pretty energetic on here, but I trust, trust me, like, I'll need some time to recover after doing this kind of public video thing anyways. So high performance coach, being an introvert in an organization, there are common things that people can do to reach higher levels of success and performance. And so I'd love to share that with you. And so it's built in this free video and on that page, too, if you are looking for that next step, that more advanced touch point. I offer a free one hour strategy session where we go through your life, what you're struggling with, your situations, the things that are important to you. And we custom build a plan for you to go out there and crush it to reach that next level of effectiveness, of productivity, of that sense of joy, that sense of progress, that sense of impact in your life. And I'd love to do that for you. But you have to sign up for that free video to get access to the application. So hit the link below again. Share this with three people, if you would.
