In this live episode of “Start Your Day with the Coach,” host Sean Buttner introduces a new “Learning Day” segment aimed at fostering community curiosity and personal growth. He explains the purpose of the segment—to share what he’s currently learning, invite viewers to comment on their own learning interests, and use those topics to create future content that blends personal development with emerging knowledge. Sean outlines several personal learning pursuits he’s been exploring over the past year: baking chocolate‑chip cookies as a tactile creative hobby, studying chess to understand iterative decision‑making, researching blockchain technology from a non‑investor standpoint, and delving into psychology, neuroscience, and communication to enhance his coaching practice. He emphasizes how these diverse interests can build resilience, spark awe, and support high‑performance living. The episode concludes with a call‑to‑action for viewers to comment their learning topics, promising a response within 24 hours and a deeper dive in upcoming videos.

All right. Good morning, everyone. Welcome to start your day. Great. Start your day with the coach, the show where we talk about personal development, high performance, and anything that that'll get you living a better life. Now, today it's Tuesday, so when I'm filming this live video, and that means it's. It's learning day. So this is a new thing that I'm trying out that I'm hoping you guys will help me build up as we go forward to just, you know, talk about what we're curious about, talk about what we're learning together. And last week, I had a very kind of, like, brain dump on my thoughts on Blockchain. Full disclosure, I don't own any tokens or anything. It's just, you know, having studied it for a while, trying to figure out what's going to happen from it. So, you know, I think we can build in each week a sense of awe, a sense of, oh, this is really cool. A sense of sharing interest. That, you know, one that helps you weather stresses and anything that throws at you, you know, helps you be more resilient, which is one of the core messages. But also something I've talked about quite a bit is just being curious. So today I'm still trying to figure out the research portion of this, so I can sound a lot more intelligent than I usually do on whatever we're going to talk about. But I also just wanted to kind of gauge the community and see, like, what are you guys learning? You know, what are you super interested in or nerding out about or would love to share. And I'd love to one, highlight that. Two, it also will help me kind of figure out what might be meaningful to you guys, because I know so many of you, you know, watch live, and that's awesome, and I really appreciate that. And so many others also, you know, will comment after these videos have been recorded. So just know. Just type in again whatever you're learning in the comments below this video, wherever you're watching it, and I'll review the comments and get back to you. Usually within a day. So there's a couple of times a day. Once a day, we'll say once a day. I'm checking comments. So you shouldn't go more than 24 hours without hearing from me. So some of the things that I've been really kind of focused on learning outside of personal development, you know, first. Okay, I'll start with, you know, one of the Mythbuster guys. Just try this as his handle name. I've got Jamie, I think Right. No, it's not James. Damn it. Forget that. One of the Mythbuster guys, and I'm gonna mess up his name. So I'm just gonna be vague like that. If, you know, that show said something pretty interesting that stuck with me a little while ago that says, learn how to create the things that you love. And so this past year, like, over quarantine, I've learned how to bake chocolate chip cookies because that's one of my, you know, few desserts that I really, really love. And I've been tracing this one particular, like, junkie type cookie. So really nerded out on that, you know, watched a bajillion different YouTube videos, found out all the lovers on how to make it tall and flat and, you know, the different textures and stuff. So that's really good because it gets me out of the computer, which I have a tendency to be really focused on for work a lot of the time. So been really digging that this past year. I've had some neighbors on my quarantine that have really gotten into chess. So we've. I've been checking out chess videos, and I guess that was kind of a thing for, like, the online streaming this year. A lot more chess players kind of getting well known, which is pretty cool. So. And I think chess can teach you a lot about life. Like, sometimes you make a decision, and it you think you have a thought through, it goes horribly wrong. But there's always the next board. Next, you know, game. The board gets set up, you get to try again. So I really love that iterative learning of it and how harsh you can be judged on, you know, one thing that's not completely thought through or one thing you didn't see. Like you have the bishop coming across the board taking your stuff. Not cool. But so cookies, chess, follow blockchain on and off. I don't want to talk about politics. I think we got a bit too much of that this past year. I'm just glad that it's not a crisis every other day. That's really draining. So happy about that. What else? You know, always like this coaching stuff. I'm always trying to read about psychology or communication skills or relationship skills, neuroscience, you know, things of that nature. And so that's always been really interesting to me. You know, I almost, in college, thought I was going to be a psychologist. After taking a couple introductory courses, I'm like, oh, this is pretty cool, but didn't pan out. Or I guess it did maybe, because here I am still studying it. So. All right, that said guys like. So those are the couple of big topics, you know, outside of personal development and coaching that I've really been kind of nerding out on. What are you, what have you guys been doing again? Comment below, let me know and I'll talk about. Probably on the next Tuesday I'll go a little bit deeper. And like I said, I'm still trying to figure out how to synthesize all the stuff that I've been super interested in and is something that can help you guys live a better life. Right? You're knowing that I cook Chapman chip cookies doesn't really help you or play chess. But I think the blockchain stuff is pretty interesting. I think there's some we can talk about emerging technology. That's something I do follow having been in the industry for a while. So you can talk about some of the biotech stuff or fintech stuff or stuff of that nature. But anyways, have a great Tuesday. I'll see you guys tomorrow at 10. This is Sean Butner saying live with more joy, personal growth and impact in your communities and curiosity. See ya.
