In this solo coaching video, certified high‑performance coach Shawn Buttner discusses the common feeling of being lost in career, family, and personal fulfillment. He argues that many people drift without clear intent, leading to restlessness and misalignment with their values. Buttner urges listeners to become proactive by deciding on a specific daily mission that reflects what brings them joy, presence, and a sense of contribution. He contrasts a “go‑with‑the‑flow” mindset with intentional action, emphasizing that choosing a mission each day helps align personal values with external demands from managers, parents, or societal expectations. The speaker invites viewers to share their chosen mission, and offers a free strategy session via his website (SeanButner.com) for those needing help clarifying what is meaningful and fulfilling. The video ends with a friendly sign‑off and a promise to return the next day.

Felt really lost in what you needed to do for your career, for your family, for your, like, how you feel. That's what we're going to be talking about today because it's so important. People go around so much, in my experience as a certified high performance coach, and just kind of stumble into what they want more often than not. And so this act of being proactive and trying to decide, not even trying to decide, but deciding what you're going to accomplish each day, what's important to you, what's meaningful, what's going to bring a sense of joy, a sense of presence and engagement to your life is, you know, a little bit of intention that can go a long way. Now. I used to be a guy that just go with the flow and maybe that's you too, you know, and there's nothing wrong with that. But after a while, you start to feel restless. After a while, you start to feel like there's something more in your life. After a while, you start to think, am I living the life that I want or what my manager wants me to do, or my parents or what my school said, or all these outside factors that can make someone completely miserable over the long term because there's a sense of we all want to feel congruent with ourselves and our values and how we want to show up. And it's really hard to do that when everyone else is telling you what to do, how to behave, how to feel. I guess that's ironic because I'm kind of doing the same to you this morning. But that's okay, because really, the point is, choose, decide, get into action. And, you know, maybe you got it right today, maybe not, but you. You'll feel more connected with what's going on in your life when you choose today. So that's the quick thing. Today, just choose your mission today. What is it? Share that below. And if you're like, I haven't thought about this and I need a little bit of help thinking through this, you always go to SeanButner.com and just check out the programs that I have there. You can sign up for a free strategy session where we can help you get clear on what's meaningful, what makes you happy every day, what makes you feel like you're contributing and giving and making the world a better place, or just what is fulfilling for you. So definitely go to shroudbutter.com to check that out. And I'll see you guys tomorrow at roughly the same time. So take care, my friends.
