Foreign. This is Sean Butner with. Start your day with a high performance coach. Welcome to the Morning live show. Getting a little bit back to normal after a lot of different things going on. That's really distracting. So what we got for you today is, you know, I'm a high performance coach and I help folks find more consistent success in their lives without burning out. And the reason why I do that is because when I was in tech, my. When I started my career, I was doing like 50 hours minimum, usually a lot more than that, not sleeping well because I was on call. And my career took a huge toll on my body, on my stress levels, on my ability to start thinking about what I wanted in my life. So I did some personal, you know, development type stuff, took all these classes, went to seminars and all this, and figured out a way out of that daily grind where you just can't think about your life anymore, quite frankly. And I wanted to talk about that today and ask you if you had more confidence in your life, in your relationships, in your ability to say no, in your career, in your ability to advance things in your career, what would your life look like and what would happen if you had more joy throughout the day when you were working, when you were with your friends and family, when you were working out or just taking care of yourself? How would your life change if you were more fully engaged in everything that you were doing where you weren't always thinking about, oh, I got to do this later today. Oh, they forgot that with the kids. But you could be fully present and devote all your energy to focusing on that big project that's moving your life forward. Maybe you're starting a business or maybe you're, you know, you just want to focus on your craft and, you know, have space to learn. So that's the work that I do as a certified high performance coach and just wanted to have that conversation today because with everything going on, I think it's so easy to get caught up in anger and despair and anxiousness and fear and, you know, we can't change unless you change. I can't change anything unless I get better, become a better person, can, you know, find those things that are really important to me? Like maybe it's being a civic leader. Not for me, but, you know, maybe for you. Maybe it's, you know, actively volunteering. Maybe it, you know, it's making a greater impact in your life. So I firmly believe that high performance is a vehicle. This, this process that I am trained in is a vehicle that can help you, you know, Become that stronger leader. Become, you know, somebody that has a greater impact in your community. So that's what we're talking about today. So how do you feel more courageous, more confident, more joyous, and more present in your life? That's a really good question. And in the science of high performance, we talk about five basic incomes. And that's what I'll share with you today. You know, the first outcome that we have in high performance is how clear are you in yourself, what you want and how you show up? And that's really simply, you know, we talked about this before. It's that three word exercise a couple weeks back that we did. Like, what are your three words? People love that exercise because it gets you thinking about, like, yeah, who am I? You know, have that time to slow down and be like, what am I about? What do I stand for and how do I live into that every day? You know, it's not something that you're like, this is the person I want to be and I'll deal with it next week, or this is the person I want to be and it'll eventually happen. No, no, you have to be actively engaged in, you know, your values and how you're showing up every day. Because if you're not, you're constantly fighting yourself, thinking like, you know, I know I'm an honest person, but I just, you know, was not honest with my kids. I know that I'm a good person, but I was quiet when I saw that person getting yelled at on the street for no reason. You know, I should have spoken up. I should have done this, you know, and when you have that, that type of cognitive dissonance, it really saps away your motivation. It saps away your ability to respond strongly to situations. So clarity is one of the goals that we have in certified high performance. The second thing that we do, we talk about a lot is energy, you know, and it's not that, you know, you have a level of energy. It really comes down to how much energy can you create every day to fully feel engaged, to not feel exhausted all the time, maybe, you know, to be able to get up out of bed, spring out of bed and run towards the day, looking forward to it, you know, both physically, you know, so if your body is consistently fatigued, it's going to be really hard. But if you have that like, mind fog too, you know, we talk a lot about if you can't think straight, if it takes you a little bit, you know, to get warmed up in the morning, like me, like, you know, that is part of my process. So no judgment there. But when you realize that you have a lot more control over the amount of energy that you have, you can put it into situations that you can summon when you need to perform, when you need to succeed. That's very liberating. And so, you know, are you getting enough sleep? Are you drinking enough water? Are you moving your body? And are you feeding your style yourself nutritious food, like four super, you know, basic points that I think we all know and sometimes struggle to remember when we see the big box of Teddy Grahams, which is delicious and great. And I know my buddy Dave's on Instagram here, so it's, you know, Teddy Graham's for life, but it's more of is that the best fuel for your body and mind? You know, could it be better? Could you have a better experience in life if you're eating a lot more healthier? And again, no judgment, because I am not. Teddy Graham's for life. For me too. So any case. All right, so that's energy, you know, are you sleeping enough, like, seven hours a night? You drinking enough water during the day? Are you moving around, stretching, you know, exercising, and then nutrition again, to recap that, tacos, of course, too. Third thing and tacos. I just found a new taco place. It's pretty awesome. Not the best high performance food, but good for the soul every now and then. Third thing, courage. We talk about courage and, you know, if you can speak up and share your values, share your true authentic self, then, you know, you have that confidence to handle situations, which is one of the things that we're going after in high performance, that feeling of being confident. And that's not like pushing through when you just don't know, you know, sometimes being bold is saying, I don't know, sometimes being bold is saying that I don't have this figured out, but I'm willing to learn, I'm willing to listen, I'm willing to figure this out. So when you can fully express yourself, you know, again, you know, you also feel like you have a little bit more control in your life, so you end up feeling a little bit happier. And it's way more engaging to be living your life, directing your life, commanding your life and living boldly than it is to think I always stepped out, you know, and maybe you've had that experience, maybe not. But it is such a core thing to anyone that's, you know, highly productive, anyone that's, you know, efficient, anyone that is performant, you know, is the ability to Say, even though I'm uncertain right now, I can take some action and figure it out and see what happens and learn from it. So that's the third point in high performance. The fourth outcome we look for in high performance in general is, you know, your productivity. And it's kind of just talking about that. So what does that mean? Because that's a huge word that nobody here. It could mean a jillion different things to a bunch of different people. So there's so many different ways you can be productive. It could be advancing your career. It could be growing your business. It could be, you know, just having the best relationship with your spouse or partner. It could be, you know, having a community space for your community where everyone's connecting. It could be, you know, cooking the best food for your friends and family. It could be, you know, being a machine in the gym where you just are walking muscles, you know, something like that. You know, there's so many different layers to productivity, but at the end of the day, like, there's so many things it could be. It's so many things that could be. To you, the important question is, what are the most important things that are driving you to the life that you really want? And that's kind of a big question, like, what life do I really want? But if you think, hey, I want to be healthy, you know, being productive is, you know, eating right, it's running every day, it's, you know, doing weights or whatever that the mix for fitness and health is for you. But being consistent in that habit every day, advancing that goal every day, moving you towards that every day. So it's also when you're very clear on those things that advance your day, how do you eliminate distractions? You know, you just want to get rid of, you know, the endless scrolling and Netflix, you know, are you still watching? And you start to cry because you're like, yes, I am. And I know I should be doing something else. You know, I think we've all been there, especially during the lockdown here. So how can you, you know, eliminate distractions? Know what you got to get done every day to advance and, you know, start getting momentum towards the life that you want or advance even quicker towards that if you know what's going on. So that's productivity. The final outcome that we have in high performance that we look for is your relationship skills. It's, you know, we call it influence, but really it's. It's building solid relationships on trust, on mutual respect, on, you know, being able to discuss ideas, settle on the Best one and advancing, right? And if you think of the people that are the most productive in the world, you know, it's not Steve Wozniak at Apple. It was Steve Jobs who was able to, you know, organize and lead a large group of people. So if you struggle with, hey, I have this idea, and, you know, you're a technical person like I am. You know, I was software engineer for quite a while, and you propose an idea and nobody listens, and they just go and do their own thing. And you're like, hey, I could have saved you a bunch of heartache. I could have, you know, made this better, but nobody's listening to me. You know, you might need a couple of those relationship skills or, you know, some tools in order to help you advance there. And very easy thing to do if, you know, and this is a fun thing to do. I encourage you to do this with your family tonight or some friends or family, but just ask people, what do you want out of life? And listen, you know, and inspire them. You know, cheer them on. You know, just be inspired by. Oh, you really want, you know, to run the whole United States? Awesome. Hey, you really want to start that business where you're helping kids learn art? Like, that's amazing. You know, you really, you know, are looking to become a little bit more influential and serve in your organization by getting, you know, promoted into a management position. Like, awesome, go for it. And you know it. See, simple conversations that can really build connection that, you know, help you. Like, you know, if you know that somebody is struggling to get promoted and you're like, well, what's going on? You might be able to offer a different perspective, a different way to think through or be like, hey, like, that's a tough situation. And here's how I might deal with it. This is how I would think through it. But, like, you know, here's a hug. You know, you can cheer people on in so many different ways. And that's just a basic skill in building relationships, is seeing people and saying, hey, I see you. Hey, let's do this together. I want you to succeed, right? Every successful manager that I've had in my career, any successful mentor I've had, the people that I felt very influential with, have always had that thing in common where, like, I want you to succeed. So if you have that idea, that's what you should look for. Managers, that's what you look for in mentors and close friends and family. So. And that's. I want you guys to succeed, too. And this is a good segue into just letting you guys know that okay, in the next month or probably month and a half I'll be opening up a group coaching program to go through the science based process of high performance. Something that I really love to do. I it's such a transformational thing. You know, when I went through the coaching it completely changed my life and helped me, you know, you know, build alignment in different areas towards the things that I was working on that I didn't even realize were out of alignment. And so I'm going to be doing this group coaching thing mostly because there's only so much time that I can do the individual coaching so that I have a couple spots open for the individual coaching. So if that's something you are interested in, go to Sean Coach S H A W N Coach. You can take a questionnaire that'll qualify you for a free one hour session and in a month this will be closing down. So I just wanted to start getting the word out about that and then it'll be, you know, open for a more group format which is not as tailored to your life but will be an awesome community of like minded folks. So we'll go through the same process that you would do an individual but it's less frequent. So you're not going to have that consistent learning, that consistent growth or as consistent and it's not going to be as tailored. So you're not going to have a lot of those individual breakthroughs that you get through working one on one with the coach. But you know, again you'll have an amazing community. You'll have this process that can help you, you know, figure out how to get ahead in your career. How to, you know, connect with what fills up your heart and how you can connect more with that on a daily basis even if there are other parts of your life that aren't not as awesome. So if you're. Again, if you're interested in the individual coaching at the end of the month is I'll have more details on it but there will be an end to having access to that to in the general public. So just want to throw that out there again. Sean Coach guys, if you are curious, I think it should be in my Instagram profile too if you're seeing this on the Instagrams. That said, I hope you liked me talking about high performance and a little bit of what I do because it could be a little nebulous. So yeah, if you liked it, comment below. If you have any questions, let me know. I'd love to engage the community a bit more. Everyone seems a little bit shy, and I get that. But, you know, if you're struggling with something, I'd love on these morning shows to be able to talk to certain situations and do a little bit of coaching. I think that would be cool as a free thing to do for the folks. So that said, guys, thank you so much for watching. I hope you enjoyed this, and I will talk to you guys tomorrow, same time, same place. All right, Take care.
