In this candid vlog, Shawna Lynne Delulu Today reflects on the transformative power of confidence after listening to The Confidence Code. Shawna recounts 25 years of challenging medical professionals by becoming her own expert, citing seven instances where her deeper research outperformed doctors’ advice. She connects this self‑advocacy to her neurodivergent experience, explaining the difficulty of completing a curriculum project and how she secured support to finish it. A powerful family session is detailed, where she helped a daughter recognize the cascade of bad choices and equipped parents with new language tools. The vlog ends with everyday logistics—HVAC repairs, buying light bulbs—illustrating how she balances high‑stakes work with ordinary tasks while maintaining confidence and self‑esteem.

Holy fuck. This quest of confidence is wild. I had no idea how self-esteem and confidence ruled so many decisions we make in life and the impact it has On how we judge ourselves in value of skill set. Oh my God, it is unbelievable when I look back on listening to the book Confidence Code. Someone will add in all the pieces. The amount of insecurity and self-talk we do to not, as women, to not take away our own value is insane. Every study in that book showed women devaluing themselves, every single one, every single one. I spent my whole life Without valuing the confidence. Now, I understand that I have inner confidence. I know that I am very confident in taking risks and getting shit done. I'm not always confident that what I'm doing is right, that there might not be a better way. Not always confident that I ask the right people for advice, but I'm always confident. I'm confident that I will find something that works. I'm also confident that I will be judged for whatever I do, no matter what, because it is outside the box of typical thinking of the people that surround me in life. I do not feel that there needs to be the answer no unless we have at least tried a lot of things. And without asking and looking and learning and trying and having conversations and sharing and learning more, we say no very easily, which Again, impacts our lives so differently. If I allowed the medical system to tell me how my kids were going to be, they would not be where they are today. I fought the medical system for 25 years for many people in my life with many successful stories on doing things differently. Because not all doctors are experts. They might not take the extra time to do the extra reading in the things that you need. If you are like me and something is going on in your life, then you would do all the research and ask a lot of people because it's important to you, which means you become the expert. So find somebody who's willing to listen and values that you did the research to become an expert. It is not fair when people devalue that in my life. I am an expert in so many topics because I needed to learn enough to go up against professionals who were telling me that things could not be. Even though I intuitively know they could be, and I was right. So just to let you know, I was right. I was right. So there are 7 doctors that are wrong, which means there are 7 times that I was smarter and took more risks because I did more research than 7 doctors. Just saying. And yet it took me a long time to be able to say that. I made excuses for myself, but the truth is this was important to me. I did the work, I did the research, I put the effort in, I did it because it was important to me. And lucky I have a strong voice that I did not let people tell me no. I stood up for what I believed in consistently, in confidence. Now I have the confidence to know That my brain is magnificent. This thing works so well, and I love sharing it because due to my experience from my life and all the fighting that I did, I have a lot of solutions that other people would never think of. I am so grateful. I can put solutions to problems you didn't even know Existed. So do you want to trust that, or do you want to question it? Up to you, makes no difference to me. It really anymore does not matter to me. In my life and my experience, I continue to take risks and do some research and learn and be vulnerable and try new things and think outside of the box. And up until this point, it's been working, and I'm really enjoying it. I'm in over my head right now, that's for sure, but only in the way that I get to learn and grow and learn more. So once again, I'm very grateful for that feeling of being able to push myself to the limits of growth, and my confidence that I can do it is so beautiful right now. I have so much self-esteem. I'm feeling so pretty, and I am wearing the clothes I like, and I have a body that I'm really comfortable with, and I'm exercising consistently. Not this week, but that's okay. I did a lot of curriculum this week, which is so hard, much harder than I thought. But when people read it, they really like it, so my confidence is high that I achieved it. I just need to bring it to the finish line, which is part of my neurodiversity, but I found someone who I think who can support me, and I am in 2 more weeks of hardcore hard work, and then I can sit back and relax and reset and go on to the next part of this challenge. So confidence is up, self-esteem is growing. I am enjoying this path that I set myself on. And I am being so grateful and honoring all the work for the 18 years I planned this life. 18 years I built what I was going to do and how I was going to live this decade of 50, and it is like coming true every day. Every day it's coming true, and that is just so beautiful. So thank you for sharing. In my joy, coming on this journey with me, changing every day. Oh my God, I had a powerful session with a family this morning. Oh my God, the daughter's been lying, making really, really bad choices. Bad, bad, bad choices. Oh, I think we got it. I think we got that place where she understood how every bad choice is gonna just create more bad. I think we brought it down to the basics, gave the parents a whole bunch of new language questions, leading statements to put out there instead of the things that are making their kids anxious. So that was powerful. I'm really excited for next week. I hope they sit in all that they learned today. They were so excited to have those conversations. They were so powerful as a family. Anyways, Okay, going in to do some errands. I'm organized and on task today. Another Saturday where I could work and finish all these little things. I still have no heat, but I called an HVAC guy, so it's not mine anymore. I just have to figure it out. Okay, thanks again. I'm gonna keep rambling, but I'm gonna sit in the car now. I'm gonna go inside to Canadian Tire and get the light bulbs that I actually need for the beautiful fixture I bought. See you soon. Mm-hmm.
