Join me and Leona for a Discussion on becoming a Psychotherapist

In this 16‑minute YouTube conversation, Shawna Lynne (presenting as Shawna Lynne Delulu Today) mentors Leona, a trainee psychotherapist, through the planning and launch of a paid group therapy series for families of children with hearing loss. The dialogue covers a wide range of practical and emotional topics: promoting the service via Instagram, Karma Cares, and Union Hearing; troubleshooting technical issues with QR codes, Canva posts, and Facebook groups; setting pricing at $25 per session and structuring a 5‑session series of 90‑minute meetings; scheduling options (Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings) and using the Jane booking system; designing session content using research findings and Shawna’s “5‑Flow” framework (purpose, relationships, emotional load, self‑development, self‑care); handling therapist anxiety and the need for mentorship, validation, and support; building community outreach through newsletters, email lists, and social media; and establishing accountability through email CCs and ongoing check‑ins. Throughout, Shawna emphasizes the importance of aligning therapeutic work with personal strengths, community advocacy, and professional growth, while Leona expresses concerns about anxiety, technical roadblocks, and finding the right niche. The conversation ends with concrete next steps: finalizing dates, creating promotional materials, and scheduling a follow‑up call.

It's okay. It worked out.
Oh, good.
Oh, good. Thank you.
How are you doing?
Good. Good. How are you?
I'm okay. I'm okay.
That's great.
I just announced on— I just did a live on Instagram this morning, and I announced that you are giving free therapy. So—
Oh, thank you.
We'll see if— we'll see if you get any new hits in the next couple of days.
I thank you so much for that. I also, um, I submitted the I shared it with the operation manager at Union Hearing. So she's like, she's so excited. I don't know, maybe she sounds excited, but she— the only thing is it took a minute. It took a while because there's something wrong with my post. She said she couldn't work, like no one can scan the QR. So that took a while. So it worked out.
Okay.
Yeah. So she said she will Posted on my behalf. Good.
Who is the— who— what's her name?
Stephanie.
Okay. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. So she's the one who responded. I just sent it, and I sent it to—
Does she know you're working with me?
I'm pretty sure she does because that's a Karma Cares.
Okay. Well, I know, but I don't know if she knows I'm Karma Cares.
Oh, maybe I should mention that.
Yeah. Let her know because both my kids go there. They've known my kids my whole— their whole life.
Oh, sure. Okay. Okay. I figured maybe she'd like Google and be like, who is she anyway? Because I, I mentioned I work at— did I mention?
Yeah, but I don't think she knows that I'm Karma Kares.
Oh, okay.
Let her know, like, I'm working with Shawna Ackerman.
Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So I sent it to her and she said she's gonna post it on social media and then she's gonna post it on the Burlington board. I think she already did that, posted on Burlington board.
Great. Amazing.
Okay.
So You see how you're thinking now?
Yeah.
Right?
Yeah.
It's so important to think about where you want to go as a therapist, not just to be a therapist.
Yeah, that makes sense. Yes.
Right? Because even if you go work for someone, if you, if you don't, if, if we limit what you do in this time where you have the ability to learn, then you'll miss a big piece of life.
Yes, that's true. That makes sense. Yeah, I, I, I think what took me a while is my anxiety.
Yeah.
I believe so. And I, and I was And I— it helps to have, like— I think it helps to have someone to push me. But at the same time, I feel like maybe I should really push myself.
Okay. Let me— let me introduce you to 2 thoughts. Okay?
Yeah.
Anxiety is devastating. It is a thought process in our head that holds us stuck.
Yeah.
I'm not enough. I can't do this. Oh, I'm— my hand is not up. Thank you. It holds us in a place of fear and unknowing discomfort.
Mm-hmm.
When we walk it back and go, okay, what do I need to move forward? You need someone on the other side to be your healthy brain. That's the whole basis of therapy. You just learned to be a therapist. So look at your anxiety and think about it. What would my anxiety do in therapy? My anxiety in therapy would say, I don't want to do this. I can't do this. I'm not good enough.
Right.
And as a smart woman who just learned all this stuff, you say to your anxiety, what do you need to go forward? Who's on my team? Are my parents on my team? Are they supportive of this? Are they supportive of me? Are they supportive parents? Mm-hmm.
Is—
do I have a mentor? Is there someone out there telling me that I'm doing well?
Mm-hmm.
To check in all the time. Think about school. You do something, you, you, you do, you do your assignment, you hand it in, and you get a response. You get validation, or you get something that you need to change. When you go to a job, a real job, when you deliver your deliverables in a real job, someone is saying yes or no, good or bad. You don't have that as a therapist. No one's telling you that you're doing a good job building a life as a therapist. You just have to build it.
Yes.
It's really hard.
It is. Right?
So of course your anxiety— I still have anxiety. Yeah, I always have anxiety. Am I good enough? Will my clients keep coming? Will this week be okay? Will my bank account Will I keep learning? Will I fuck someone up every day? It's normal.
Validating.
Yeah, validating. The other part of that is I'm gonna do my best to be the best that I am. I have all the education behind me. When I became a parent, I knew less about parenting than I do about therapy. I didn't know anything about parenting. There's no No one tells you what to do. Get 2 individual children, and each one of them have their own rules and vibration and energy, and you have to decide how to parent them. You make a million mistakes, and no one's validating you. Everyone's telling you what a shitty job you're doing.
Mm-hmm.
Right?
Yeah.
So here you are in therapy. You want the person on the other side to be happy with your services? Well, they're not really going to tell you that unless you, like, see them for a couple of times and you blow their mind, which doesn't always happen in therapy because people are coming in in pain, and it takes a lot to get to the pain, to put it on the table, to look at it, to help them shift it.
Mm-hmm.
People can go to therapy with— for 5 years before they ever touch A piece of their pain that they're willing to be vulnerable enough to share, to change.
Yeah, that takes a while, right?
Yeah, like even you— go ahead, cough. You want to cough?
Yeah. Oh yeah, I'm okay. I'm still recovering. That's weird. Yeah, on and off, on and off.
My nose is still running.
Oh my God. Anyway. You—
if, if you want to, like when we started, your interactions with your hearing loss were still very different than what I would hope you had to be able to talk to other people and lead them on. You can do anything with a disability. It's fine. You're okay. Look at me.
Yeah.
Right? And that's a hard place to be. Which makes me even curious why you landed in my lap at a time where you needed mentorship in a community that you really are— could be a good leader of, and you weren't even in it.
Yeah, right.
Don't you find that a little curious?
Yeah. Oh, you mean like, like now? Oh, like how everything kind of lined up?
Right? Like, out of all the places you landed in practicum, you landed with me, who, like, I'm in the deaf community.
I didn't realize that. I wasn't expecting that to happen.
Right?
I wasn't.
Isn't it? Don't, don't you feel— I feel it was something you needed.
Yeah.
We're gonna be this amazing therapist in your life, being able to integrate yourself with your own different abilities and stand up with the right vocabulary and leadership of advocacy, I think, is very important.
It's funny how, like, life goes and how things just happen without us noticing or realizing it. But I know, funny. Oh.
That is my story of my life.
Yeah, I was inspired by your life too.
Every piece of my life leads me in a direction of something better.
I agree.
Over and over again.
Yeah, I think it's like, I'm glad that, you know, everything kind of panned out. In a really interesting way. And, but I do agree, like when, like what you say, I also felt the same when I find out, when you told me that you have 2 deaf kids and stuff. It's funny how I came to this out of all the other paths to come, but I also felt like inside me, okay, maybe I should be like, Like, you mean my focus on that area?
At least in the beginning. Yeah, as you get— right, it's an easy community for you to integrate into.
It is, would be. Yeah.
Right, and you're smart enough and successful enough to be a leader in that community and help people understand things, and you learn about yourself. So you'll be introspective. You'll be integrating your challenges in your life with your hopes of therapy. And you can learn. You can do anything you want in the next— after this, right? But at least you finding a niche that helps you move in a direction of success.
Yeah, that makes sense. I think that's— I think for me, like, I find it kind of like right now I'm seeing people who are not, who doesn't have hearing loss, some, but I don't know like what it is. Maybe it's like I say, maybe anxiety, but like I find it a little bit challenging to get clients with hearing loss. So maybe I'm thinking, okay. So this is why I came When I talked to my attending teacher, she brought up the point about the ones that, you know, needed the most support are families. So maybe I should focus on families that need the most. So I think that was really helpful, because maybe that's what I'm doing wrong. Maybe I should link up with families because they're the ones that are struggling. So yeah, and then that's when I did a little bit of, like I showed you, the Whole outline. And I'm not sure, like, this is gonna be my first time doing group therapy, so I'm not sure how that's gonna go. I was thinking of doing like a PowerPoint or something, but I thought maybe that's too much.
No, I think it's important. No, I think it's okay. Okay, so maybe come up with like a topic. That you want to discuss. So maybe the first group therapy is— the question would be like everyone introduces themselves, right? So that would be number 1. Number 2 is you tell— sorry, number 1 is you tell your story.
Oh, my story.
Yeah, you share your challenges with hearing loss or your ease with hearing loss. You didn't even know it was a disability, like For you, just part of being. Again, however you want to deliver your story.
Right.
And then you ask people to share. They can put it in the chat or they can share, you know, go around the room. And then we talk about goals. What are some things we want to get out of the next 10 weeks? How many do you want to do? You want to do 5? Like, let's do a series. Let's pick our dates and do a series. Oh, how many do you want to do? Right. So let's say maybe we do 5 at $25 an hour. I mean, sorry, like $25 to come in, right? I think we should charge something, especially if I'm gonna come and do it with you.
No, okay, I wanted to talk about that too because I brought— sorry, I'm sorry. How do you say it?
Bronwyn. Bronwyn.
She asked about the pricing. I told her I have to get back to her. I want to talk more about it with you.
Yeah. So I think we can charge $25. Keep it low.
Yeah.
Right. If there's 10 people on there again, I'll take my hourly, and then we'll have a percentage at the end of your placement. You can use it to pay for your supervisor.
Yeah.
Right. And we can get people to sign up and maybe there'll be 25 of them. I mean, $25. We'll do 5 of them.
Okay.
Think of the 5 themes we want to do.
Yeah.
Right. Or even like get the goals from the parents and do it kind of like, let's go. What do we want to talk about? And you can have some themes. So what are your themes of therapy that you would like to share?
Yeah, okay.
Well, I'm asking— that's a question now. What are some themes of therapy you would like to share? Like, what relates in your brain?
So I think like, um, maybe like I was thinking I could come up— like I could start off with like the research-based. I don't know, maybe that's too much. Oh, that's okay. Yeah, because I was thinking then that way the research-based, most people, they're more likely to believe. According to research.
Love it.
Yes. So I was thinking I'd do that.
So your next slide is a whole bunch of research findings.
Yes.
People can have the PowerPoint after with the links.
Yes. And so like mainly around, because it's gonna be family with children, right? So I'm thinking since it's that, so I focused on research on challenges that children with hearing loss have. Like depression, anxiety, or isolation, or anything that's underreported, something like that.
Love it.
Okay. I was thinking of doing that maybe after, like, like you said, like, I introduced myself and introduced after they introduced, and after they talk about what they want to talk about. And then I— Yeah.
And then I think I would do introduction, then I would do these. They'll research next.
Oh, okay.
And then I, then I would give them a chance to do a poll. I would do a poll.
Oh, okay.
5 things. Like, let— we can do it on my— let's use my 5 Flow framework for your 5 things for your poll. Do you want to learn about purpose and plan where your kids are going? Relationships. How do they socialize and how do they survive in your family dynamics? Emotional load. How are you helping them be autonomous in the house?
Mm-hmm. Okay.
Self-development. How are you— you're teaching your kids to learn about themselves? And self-care. How do we take care of ourselves and our hearing loss and the amount of time we need in silence?
Yeah.
Parents don't respect that. Sometimes when kids come home, they want to take off their hearing. They don't want to communicate. It's the energy of communication all day in school is exhausting, more so than with, like, with other populations.
Yeah.
Right. So let's use my 5 Flow Framework.
Okay.
For those 5 things, make a poll. Right? Are you struggling with? Do you want to learn more of? Like, what is your biggest challenge kind of thing? So you make a poll.
Yeah, yeah.
Everyone kind of answers the poll so you have direction.
Yes.
And then you start fielding some questions and you just— we just start having the conversation. You will lead it.
Yeah.
And I will sit there and I'll manage the chat.
Okay, thank you.
If there's a bigger question, I'll say, hey, Leona, let's stop for a minute. I have a question I'd like to put on the table.
Yeah.
And then if you get stuck at any time or you're not confident in your answer, say, hey, Shawna, help me out here.
Okay, sure.
So that it shows that we're a team.
Right, right, right.
I'm mentoring you. I'm excited for your future. I want you to be successful, and I will stay and allow you to lead, and I will be there if you need help.
Sounds good. Thank you.
Yeah, I think—
Do you want— wait, I have a question. So if I'm just stuck, do you want me to, like, type in the chat, help me out here?
Oh, you say, hey, Shawna, I need help here.
Okay. In front of everyone.
Yes, in front of everyone. That's vulnerability. That is what we are teaching people to do, right? Vulnerable with their feelings because we are a team. Everyone needs help.
Yeah.
Accessibility and advocacy.
Sounds good. And right. Yeah.
Let's, let's be clear. If you do not reach out to people to help you, you weren't going to get your hours you needed. To graduate, you would get stuck because of your fear of anxiety. And that is so silly.
I know.
Talent and knowledge and lived experience, and you want to build a career in the thing you just studied.
Yeah, I know.
So stepping over the line Unfortunately, our education system doesn't bridge the gap between school and real world.
No, it doesn't.
So I take that as my role. I'm committed to making sure that you take all that beautiful knowledge and you go out into the world and you use it for your success.
Thank you.
Yeah, I'd like you to succeed. That would be really happy for me to see someone with a hearing loss who became a therapist succeed.
Yes, exactly. Um, actually, I have one question. So I was thinking, like, another thing I was thinking of adding to it after the study stuff like that is the impact on family. Yeah, that part too. So like, like you said about the communication thing that you said about silent communication barriers, And then the emotion is stress on the family.
Right. So you can put that in kind of like an email.
In the email?
No, you can put that piece of information in an email.
In an email. Okay.
And everyone has to put their email into the chat.
Oh, okay.
You have everyone's email.
Okay.
I'm gonna send them Okay. The links to the PowerPoint and all the next statistics.
Okay.
Right now you see how you keep the next level of communication going.
Yeah.
So anyone in the group now has an email and is getting messages from you. So you're building your community.
Mm-hmm.
And we want the— we want the group itself to be mostly talking and sharing. We don't want you leading. You're not doing a presentation. You're doing group therapy.
Right.
Right. The information you want to share is a good place to put it. We'll put it in. Then we'll put it in like we're going into my newsletter. Sign up for the newsletter. You'll get this information.
Okay. So I'm doing the newsletter now. Okay.
I'm doing the newsletter.
Oh, you're doing it. Okay.
I'm doing the newsletter, but we're setting it up from your perspective.
Okay. Got it. Okay.
Right?
Okay.
Again, we wanna build.
Yeah.
Your next level. We want people to reach out to you. We want to say, hey, they were really good. I like that. I need more.
Yeah. Okay. Sound good. Okay.
Right? And then you can put that on social media under Karma Cares. Look what I did. If you know somebody, right, we're gonna use it for social media to keep building your community, your reputation, and your skills.
So do you— about social media, I actually— I'm not sure, like, I haven't posted on Common Care yet, but I actually opened my own Facebook group. Okay, but I'm having trouble posting. I don't know why it's not letting me post in the post. It's weird. Anyway, so, uh, like I kept posting it, but it won't let me post in Karma Cares right now.
Just go in there.
Okay.
Yeah, because whatever you post in there, yeah, I will take and post on my personal page.
Sure. Okay, I don't know if that's allowed, but I, I kind of titled my Facebook group as Leona's Healing Wellness Psychotherapy. Is that allowed? I don't know.
Why not?
Okay, I have no idea, but I, I just want to make sure that I'm following.
And maybe we can go through your Facebook and add it to mine so my, my posts go on yours too. We'll have to go through it.
Okay. Yeah, yeah.
We're gonna have to figure out how your— why your page is not working. I just had to go through my whole Meta system And change all my— oh my God, it's work.
I, I, it worked before, like I post like introduction about me and work, it went through. But when I come to posting the, the one in my Canva post, I want to post my Canva post, it would not go through. Like I did so many times. It was so weird. It was so bizarre.
So you're not posting from Canva.
Oh, maybe that's what I'm doing wrong.
Maybe download it and then try posting it. You might not be—
Yeah, I tried that too. I did. I downloaded it. Okay, I tried it.
Okay, do me a favor. Do you wanna share your screen?
Sure. I show you.
And do you have permission?
Yeah, I can show you. Oh my gosh.
Yeah, share your screen. Let's see. I spent some time on it yesterday. Maybe I can help.
Maybe I'm— how do I share it? Alright, so this one is what it looks like. So this is my page that I did. I just started recently, and then I put down like, welcome. I did a little— okay, maybe I should I'm gonna edit that. I look kind of off. And I tried to, and I even put down my, like, my link.
Yeah.
That's what I did.
That was great.
This is good. But when it comes to the, like, the actual, like, like when I tried to, maybe I didn't do it right, but anyway.
Okay, so go in there.
Yeah. So I go here.
Yeah.
And I try to, like, I even tried to drag this down. Maybe I'm not doing it, but—
Okay, so go down to the bottom and go to the picture. Add to your post. Go to the green one. Go to the green, the green picture. Yeah.
It's not clicking. Like, it's not like—
It's not allowing.
Like, nothing coming out. Like, when I click on it, nothing. Okay, let me start over. Let me try again. Maybe, maybe there's a glitch.
But okay, start over.
Let's try. Start over. I'm hoping maybe it's just the timing. That's what I'm hoping. Okay. Okay, let me try this way.
Okay, don't— okay, go out again. You did it in the middle. Let's try something else. Go out again.
Go out again.
Okay, now go press, press, press photo.
Photo. Yeah.
Now go to the photo at the bottom.
Photo at the bottom.
Yeah. Go there. Put add to your post.
Nothing.
Nothing. Okay. Go to the X in the middle again.
Go to the X middle again.
Now go in there. Go to add photos and videos. Now go right to the middle.
Okay. Right. Okay. Add. Yeah.
And it's not connecting to anything, is it?
It's connecting now, but it's not like Okay, let me try if I can do the— oh, okay, that one works.
Okay.
But I can't use this one because the QR code is not working.
The QR code's not working?
The QR doesn't work, that one. Okay, I tried it. Hopefully I have the other one. I couldn't find this post.
So just do— just do this. Take this picture and just crop it.
Take my picture?
Take this picture, crop it. Like, go into that picture on your computer and crop it. No, crop it before you put it in there.
Oh, crop it.
Crop it. Yeah. I go into your downloads. Yeah. Can you edit it?
Is it too big?
No, I want you to take off— oh, this QR code works.
This one works.
Oh, okay. Sorry. Sorry. I thought it was the other one. So put it in. Let's see.
But that one, I don't know why I can't find it. Oh my God!
So just download it again.
Okay, let me try again. Like it's not showing up.
Okay, so go back to it. Go back to the picture.
Sure.
Download it again. Press the little arrow on the right. Yeah.
Let me try again.
I like to put it— yeah, I like to put it on my desktop sometimes.
Where am I going now?
Please come. Please come.
It doesn't show up. Okay, I think I have to— maybe it downloaded, but for some reason it's not saved properly.
Yeah, maybe it's saved too small, right?
Maybe. Okay, I was thinking maybe I could just Any luck? Yeah, that's great. Okay.
Okay. Okay. So let's talk about how we're gonna set our dates and our times. When would you like to run this group? When would you like to start?
Uh, I just want to go back. So you said $25 per hour. You said it for 2 hours.
We're gonna charge $25 for them to come online.
Okay.
Just part of the group therapy. Just $25.
Just like a flat fee. Okay.
Yeah, it will go for maybe an hour and a half.
Yeah, an hour and a half or so. And I was thinking, well, because family, they might not be available during the day, right?
Chances are no.
Chances are no.
You can do a lunch one, right?
Yes, depend— we could try lunch one. And then, so that would be maybe, I guess, should I do a poll? Maybe I'm thinking maybe when I advertise it, I could do a poll and see when most people are available. I don't know.
Again, you're just adding more work to yourself.
Oh, no. Okay, so let's not do that.
If people want it, they'll sign up, and they might not sign up first round, right? So when do you want to run it? Do you wanna run it in the evenings, or you wanna run it like on a Sunday?
I guess I could run it on a Sunday.
Okay.
Because that seems like most likely most people will be available. Okay.
Would you like to do Sunday mornings?
Maybe afternoon.
Okay. So afternoons, if you have kids, you're usually busy with your life. Yeah.
Okay. That's true. Okay.
So it's either in the morning before the day gets started, or in the eve— or in the late afternoon.
Okay.
So, like parents put their kids to bed, or their kids are hanging around like 7 o'clock on a Sunday.
7 o'clock in the morning on a Sunday?
No, in the evening.
Oh, in the evening. Okay. Okay.
8:30 Sunday morning. You can do 7 o'clock in the evening. You can do a 7:30 on the weekday. Like you can do 7:30 on a Monday or Tuesday.
On the evening. On the evening, right? Okay, I can try that.
You're competing with the world.
Oh yeah, I know.
So you only need 6 to 8 people, right? So they want this, they're gonna choose this.
Yes, yes.
So what's comfortable for you?
So I, you know, I still have to consider like how family work schedule like. So I'm thinking maybe I could do one One evening during the week. But I still feel like I might be exhausted by the end of the week. So that's why I'm thinking I'm leaning more toward weekend because they might be working and then they have to do this. So they might be exhausted.
People are always tired, so don't worry about that. Just pick the time that you feel is comfortable. Again, if people want it, they will find a way to show up.
Okay, so how about like, I was thinking maybe like Wednesday evening.
Okay, you want to try Wednesday?
Wednesday, yeah, Wednesday evening, like around 7:30 or maybe 8 PM.
Okay, let's do Wednesday night from 8 to 9:30.
Okay, 8 to 9:30.
And let's also advertise a Sunday morning. Yes, 8 to 9:30.
8 to 9:30 evening?
Morning.
Oh, morning. Okay.
8:30 till 10, if you want. I would advertise the 2, Sunday morning and Wednesday night.
Okay, sure. Um, okay, I think that would work.
Right? You need it. Yeah, we need at least 5 people to make it work.
Yes, of course. So it'd be like an hour and a half at least. I think 2, maybe an hour and a half, good. At most 2 hours, but that's it.
An hour and a half is good.
Yeah, an hour and a half is good.
You don't need to go longer than that.
Yeah, I think that would be good. And then so it'd be like, yeah, so Wednesday about 8 to 9 PM or Sunday, is it 8 to 9 PM? No, in the morning, right?
Yeah.
8 to 9 AM in the morning. Or maybe in 25 and garage. I think so. I think in terms of like how often, I would think maybe biweekly.
I would do like 4 weeks in a row.
4 weeks in a row. Okay, 4 weeks in a row. Okay.
Or every other week. You want— you want like, this is a series of 5 sessions. Series of 5.
Yeah, series of 5 sessions. Yeah.
Okay.
Series of 5.
Series of 5 sessions.
Okay.
And each one is $25.
Yeah.
Send an e-transfer to admin@karmacares. You could put it in. Do you know how to do a group in Jane?
No, I don't, but I can learn it. Group in Jane.
Well, let's do it really quickly.
Okay, sure.
I'll set it up and then you can play with it. Okay?
Okay, sounds good.
Okay, hold on. Let's get that out of there. Okay. Hold on, I'm in shifts. I do not want to do that. Settings. Okay, we're gonna go to disciplines, I think. Let's see. Nope, we're gonna go to sessions. Sessions, classes, and groups. Okay, we're gonna make a new session. And this is gonna be— here we go, right? A group appointment.
Okay.
And we're gonna have— we'll put 8 people.
Okay.
Online. And then you're gonna choose this. We're gonna do registered psychotherapy, no qualifying.
Okay. Yeah.
And staff member is gonna be Leona. It's gonna be booked under you. Session name, right? Group therapy for hearing loss. Group therapy for families Of with hearing loss.
Yeah.
Group therapy for family. For family hearing loss.
That sounds good. Yes.
Right. Again, you can go in and fix this.
Okay.
Your billing name is also— it's gonna be under Shawna. Description. You're gonna put a description in here. Okay. What we do, what we hope, and goals. After booking, it's a thank you for sharing our next session. We look forward to seeing— you fix that again, right?
Mm-hmm.
Thank you for sharing and coming. My spelling is so good this morning. There we go. Session length is 90 minutes, 1:30. Schedule length, we're gonna do 1:45. So we have extra time, you and I. Price is $25. And that is it. Create session.
Mm-hmm.
Okay, so you can go in. Oh, what? I think I have to do a class booking. Maybe it's got to be a class booking.
Coming soon.
Okay, so this doesn't work.
But I don't. Okay.
Okay, so in the discipline you need to enable, you need to go in. Let's see under your name if it's there, if it's saved. Paulette, Amanda, Steven, Shayla, Sam, where are you? Leona. Group therapy. Here it is. Okay.
It is. Okay.
Okay. So go in there and play with it. It went $2,469. Yeah, it's a mess.
Okay.
Go in and go in and play with it.
Okay. Just to clarify, so $25 for like one session, right? Each session. So it'll be like a flat fee.
Yes.
And you—
so they can— yeah, you, you can say you can pay for all 5 in advance. Right? Or you can book all 5. You put it in your schedule. So you go to your schedule, right? And you go to Leona, and you're gonna put it in your schedule, right? So you're gonna put it for, uh, Wednesday, April 2nd is the first Wednesday. So you're gonna do your shift, and you're gonna put it in here. 8 PM till 9:30. Repeat, whatever, like if whatever, right? Online. And you can tag this one, right? Group.
Group. Yeah, right.
So yeah, go in and play with it and make sure that it's working. Okay, I'm gonna leave that in your hands.
Okay, I just wanted to make sure, like, I got everything. So we talk about the PowerPoint a little bit, and then with the different pieces to talk about, having them to share, and then the research piece. And then for the session, it's 1.5, so, and then 25. And so I just wanted to make sure about the duration. So it's about 5 sessions over 4 weeks, so each week. So—
Well, it will be 5 sessions. You can do it every 2 weeks if you want.
Every 2 weeks. So it doesn't have to be over. It can be, but it's 5 sessions overall.
You can do one week the Wednesdays.
Sure.
And the other week the Sundays. So you're doing it every week, but you might have 2 different groups.
Oh, okay. Got it. Okay.
Right. So like, for like Monday, like Monday, this April 2nd, and then you can do the same Sunday, or you can do the like Again, go put it in the dates. Well, however you want, you can do it for the next 5 weeks. You can do it for the next 10 weeks, every other week, your choice.
Okay. Oh, let's see how that goes. Okay. Yeah, let's just try that, guys. All right. Thank you so much.
Make a list of the dates for me and send them in an email.
Sure.
You're also gonna send that email out and make a post with those dates.
Yeah.
And a link.
Yeah.
And I'm gonna put that all over my social media and send it to my teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing.
Okay, thank you so much.
Right? Like, yeah, we're gonna do it. So when you have the next step, text me again. We'll get on another call. Let's do it spontaneously. Like, I have some free time. I'd rather you not book up my schedule because I need, I need clients.
I, I know. Yes, of course. That's the, that's how it's like. Are you still available? I don't know.
I know it was perfect. Yeah, yeah, totally. I was doing a live. And I was like, oh, I got a meeting. Gotta go.
It's okay. That's why I wouldn't say—
Yeah. So I'm happy to give you a half an hour for the next, next part of it. Okay.
Sounds good. Sounds great. Thank you so much, Shawna.
Yeah, you're welcome. Okay.
I appreciate it.
And if this— I have this client that might need someone to talk to tonight. Oh, okay. Got it. Okay, perfect.
You okay?
Yeah. If he wants to talk to someone tonight, Leona can listen. Okay. His name, this kid.
Yeah.
Get a little like, get a little like motivated.
I know. I don't let me. Yeah.
Again, I, I trust you. You're an adult.
Yes, yes. Thank you so much.
You just got a master's degree.
Yes, yes.
I think you can do anything you need to do.
I, I'm still completing, actually. I'm almost done.
You're completing?
I'm almost done, actually. Like, I, I, I'm like, I haven't got it yet, but later.
But it's okay. You have your— you, you are a psychotherapist. You have your—
Yeah, we are qualified. So I'm good with that part.
We're good.
Yeah, yeah.
You are allowed to be proud of your degree. Yes, yes, yes. I'm a registered psychotherapist.
Yeah. Yeah.
I need another 50 hours to let go of my education and jump into my career.
Mm-hmm. Yep.
I'm ready. Help me.
Oh my God. I love your energy. Okay. Thank you.
Right.
Thank you.
I want you to succeed. That is important to me.
Yeah. Thank you so much.
But I need you to succeed from your inside out. I can't be your leader Otherwise, you're not gonna stand on your own 2 feet, and I think you could be pretty awesome.
Thank you so much. I think you are too.
Be the link for me to the deaf community, because I'm burnt out from deafness. I did it for 25 years. It was my whole life, just like you.
Right?
So I'm happy to nurture you to feed that community. There's lots of good Places for you to grow there, and again, that can be your starting point. You can be anything you want after this, but I think you're a really good person in the community.
Thank you so much. I appreciate your support.
You're welcome.
Encouragement. Okay.
Okay.
Keep in touch.
Let me know all the dates and everything. Why don't you? Why don't you CC me on the email to Liz?
I CC you, sir.
Yeah. CC me. This way I know what you're saying. I don't have to check it, but I'm in the loop.
Got it. Got it. I'll CC you. Sure. Okay, cool.
Same with if you, if you do anything with Stephanie at Union, CC me as well.
Okay, I'll remember to do that next time. Okay.
Yeah, no, just so that I know that what you're doing, it keeps me in the loop.
She knows I am part of Karma Care. She knows. She should probably Google already.
Good. Oh, I know that girl.
Yeah, she probably Google like, who is that? But I, I mentioned— I see you and I mention you next time.
Okay. Amazing.
That's great.
Okay. I'll see you next week and I can't wait for all the information.
Yes. Bye. Have a great day.
You too.
