Believe in the impossible đ„đ„°âïžđ„ł

Susie Taaffe shares a daily 5-minute daydream practice to believe in the impossible. She uses an "In a Perfect World" exercise to uncover what you actually need, often rest, and argues that shedding societal shoulds lets you live from your heart. She recommends pausing to close your eyes and vividly imagine something fantastical.

Hello and welcome to Susie Unshaped. We're back in the car today. Um, I like to do it in the car because I can get to where I pick my daughter up early and then I know I've got time to film. So hello and welcome. And today, as I said, I'm always just one aha moment ahead of you. That, that's my thing. I think I've decided it's just I have an aha moment and then I want to share it. And I was just listening to, um, a story by a reader that I love, and it was about believing in the impossible. And so I was like, yeah, I like this, because it was like, dedicate time for yourself each day, sort of like a meditation, to just sit there and believe in the impossible. Like, that to me was just like, like, it kind of makes so much sense. It's sort ofâ I suppose it's manifestation in a way, but it's sort of like allowing yourself to daydream Like the impossible and believe in it. And in the story it goes like this. It wasâ I don't know if it's Alice in Wonderland, or Alice is the girl anyway. And she's like, oh, but I can't believe in the impossible. And the queen she's talking to, she goes, when I was your age, I would have believed intoâ in the impossible 6 times before breakfast. And I was like, it's so true. Like kids and their imagination and their worlds, when they're not told things aren't possible They dream up the most amazing things, and then over time, like life beats us down, like life beats you down, and then your like realm of what's possible gets smaller and smaller and smaller. And so I just love that just dedicating thirty minutes a day. Like I suppose it's like the stillness break. It's like coming back inside, but. It's one step about, like, one step further than that. Like, just to dream, like daydream in the fantastical. Like, like, even to the, like, crazyâ like, what just came to me then was like pictures of me like riding a dragon and things like that. It's like we're told that there's no dragons in this reality, but who says there aren't? Like, Believe in the impossible. And if that's riding on a dragon, like, we all love movies, especially kids. Like, look at all the kids' movies. They're all like going to magical lands or like How to Train Your Dragon. And, and like, just so thatâ I'm actually giving you homework today. Today. And look, you don't even have to start with 30 minutes. Start with 5 minutes. 5 minutes. I have to even pause this video now. Stop watching me. I'm irrelevant. Pause this video now, like, and just sit there for five minutes and just dream the impossible and believe in it. Like, see yourself doing it. And you know what? It might not even be riding a dragon. You might not be going to those lengths just yet. But maybe it's, maybe it's. I'll tell you a story now about um. I used to play this game. I read it in a parentingâ it was like a how to dissolve conflict. It could have even beenâ maybe it wasn't a parenting, maybe it was actually a relationâ it was actually a relationships, um, expert giving advice on when you're like in, in like aâ not a disagreement, but it's sort of likeâ it's called In a Perfect World. And how you play itâ well, you don't play it, but it's sort of like, in a perfect world, like, this is how it would look. So I did used to play with my kids, like, if they were really frustrated or upset or something like that, I'd say, okay, let's stop and pause. Tell me, in a perfect world, what would that look like, right? What would your world look like right now? In a perfect world, like, if you could, if you could make anything happen right now, what would that be? And I'll always remember my darling son. I can't even remember how old he was, and I'dâ he wasn't big, maybe 8. Um, and I think I was like overwhelmed, frustrated, losing it basically, like really frustrated and irritated. And he was like, okay, Mum, in a perfect world What would that look like? And I was like, oh, I just likeâ um, okay, in a perfect world right now, I suppose I would be like in bed, like in my robe with a cup of tea and like, like just having a rest. And I'm like really tired. In a perfect world, I would just like to do that right now. And he was so cute. He goes, well, I don't know how to make tea, but I can get you your robe and I can help you get into bed. And it was just so endearing. And that must be what it is. It's to do with like, we're like, like, in a perfect world, what do you need right now? Like, what does that look like? And then, and it's not that you're going to get it. It'sâ I don't even know what I'm trying to say. But so I'll give you another example of when I played in a perfect world with myself. Okay, so I was at work like Single mom running my own business and working as well. And it was about 2 o'clock in the afternoon, and I was just like, woe is me, victim, my, my life sucks, I don't have enough money, I don't have enough time, I don't have enough help, I just want to go on a holiday, I wannaâ and I said, okay, let's justâ like, I was feeling like that sort of thing, you know, like my life is awful. And I went, okay, let's play in a perfect world. So I got out, I actually got a piece of paper and a pen, and I wrote down In a perfect world, what would that be right now? And so I was like, I would definitely be on holiday. So that means no responsibilities. And then I was likeâ and then as I dug in, I was like, and I would be in like a beautiful hotel room. And then I was like, and I would draw theâ I would draw the blackout curtains. And I don't think I had curtains at home at the time. I would draw the curtains and I'll put on the air conditioning. I also didn't have air conditioning. Um, and I would close it up and I'd make it cold and dark and I'd hop into that big hotel bed. And I would just snuggle into that bed and I would just sleep for like 2 days. I have never slept for 2 days in my life. Like, if I hit 8 hours, that is like massive. Like, I would never get to sleep that long. But that's what myâ I was like, oh my God, that's what I wanted. And so then I looked at it all and it was like, you don't actually need more money. You don't actually need to be on a holiday. You're just really tired. So Maybe that's the goal of in a perfect world, like in that regard, that like actually what you just need is maybe less responsibility right now and a rest. So I was like, okay, finished up my work early, went home, did the whatever I needed to do to get everyâ and I think I put myself to bed at 6 o'clock. Must have fed the kids, like probably put them in front of a movie or something, and I didn't go to sleep, but I just wentâ I did that. I kind ofâ I went into the Bedroom, can't remember. I don't think it was dark, but I just like allowed myself time to rest. So now I know that that's not really likeâ that's not believing in the impossible, but I suppose it kind of is because at that point in time I wasn't able to go on a holiday. I wasn't able to like just ditch my life and disappear. But I was able to give myself that. I don't really think that that was my point, but maybe it is my point. Maybe it is that once you've like give yourself the basic needs, which might be rest and to clear your plate and to just like cross off some of the responsibilities, just shelve them. Like they'll still be there later. You don't need to worry about that. Like don't do the washing, don't clean up the house. Feed the kids like, I don't know, frozen something from the freezer or noodles or something that is like low maintenance. Yeah, they might not get a vegetable, but do you know what? Stick a cucumber on the bench and a punnet of cherry tomatoes. Like, do the bare minimum and feedâ like, fill your basic necessities up first. Because then I think this is my point: once you've actually satisfied those basic needs of like Rest. And giving yourself a break, then you can start to dream, dream up like magical scenarios. So like, I'm gonna do that right after I finish this video, whilst before my daughter comes out, is I'm actually just going to write downâ or I may not even write it down, I might just close my eyes, or I might do a video journal. Actually, video journaling is really good. You don't even need to do a video, you could do a voice memo. I find that I am really good when I speak things out, like a voice memo, which is now when I think back on it, I love to talk things out with friends or my sisters or something like that. Like, talking things through helps me. So after this, and Iâ if you haven't paused the video and done it already, I want you to do this too. Write it down, daydream it, video speak it, voice memo it, and 5 minutes Of like dreaming and believing in the impossible. Like, see yourself there. Like, see yourself doing whatever it is. Like, we need toâ and I know I use that word, we need, which feels really like you should, but it's not. It's like, allow yourself the space to dream and believe in the impossible. Because like we create our own reality. I love it, that Chosen 144 tarot reader, when he said our eyes are not lenses to see through, they're actually projector screens. Projector screens creating our reality from what we are processing from inside out. And as we know from manifestation, it's not actually the things, it's the feeling, which I suppose was when I played In a Perfect World when I was tired at work. The feeling I was actually chasing was I was exhausted and I needed rest and to just take everything off my plate and just clear the decks. And you know, when you do that, it does not take long to recharge. Like, it doesn't take long. Like, you'd be really surprised. So all those shoulds that you've got on your list, kick them out of bed. Like, they're gone. Like, as I said, like The house will eventually get tidied. Like, often I'll just get this like inspiration of like, oh my God, I really want to tidy the house right now. And do you know what? Now I only do it if I really want to. If I don't want to do it and I'm only doing it because I should, I do not do it. And sometimes the washing will just pile up at the back door and I'm not doing it. And then I get inspired toâ yes, I want to do that right now. So That's sort of living from our hearts more. And who knows, like, we don't know what these hearts are leading us to. Like, you might get inspired to do the washing or to clean the house, and it might be because we're being led toâ while we do that washing, who knows, we might find a $20 note in a pocket. Cha-ching! Abundance coming in out of nowhere. Like, we might find something when we're tidying up that either we've been looking for or that gives us inspiration for something else. So leading from our hearts instead of those pesky shouldsâ like, we do not like those shoulds. They are gone. We, we kicked them out of bed a long time ago. Like, I'm not sure if you've done the 31-day challenge. I highly recommend it. It's free. Just find it in the playlist. I'll hopefully link it below. And Somewhere along the line, we kick the shoulds out of bed because the shoulds are just unaligned belief systems and expectations that we've had placed on us through our upbringing, society, family, like cultural, all of those things. That's what a should is. And as my darling Maureen always says, like, do not should on yourself. Should is a dirty word, worse than all the other words. The should. Because it's not I want to. I should is not our stuff. Heart. Listening to our heart. Because our head doesn't know where we're going. Like, this lifetime that we're living right now, like, we all chose to come here for this lifetime because otherwise you wouldn't be here. Not sure if that's a fact, but I'm gonna state it's a fact. You would not be here If you hadn't chosen to come into this life. And this is the lifetime where we are lifting up and out of the polarity into heart-based coherence and living. And like, heart-basedâ when we're allâ when weâ as we lift up out of this density and polarity, and it's happening. And if you don't believe me, I doubt you'd still be listening to me because you would not be on my frequency. You would be like, what is this girl talking about? I have no idea what she's talking about. Click off. So if you're still listening, then you get what I'm talking about. Like, we are all shifting to live from our hearts, and in our hearts there is no shoulds. Definitely no shoulds. There's no gaslighting, there's no narcissism, there's no any of that, because heart-based living is like a frequency of pure love. Like, we are connecting through that, and we'll be telepathically communicating. Like, Our heartsâ like, when weâ like, telepathic sounds like it comes from the mind, but it actually comes from the heart, and our brain just translates the message. And you can telepathically communicate now. Everyone can. We all do it. You just don't know you're doing it, so you're doing it unintentionally. But you can do it intentionally, and you can communicate with people here, crossed-over people, like any plants, animals. Trees. I think you can probably even telepathically communicate with inanimate objects too. Chairs, tables. I've never done that one, but, um, but they're still energy, so an energy can be communicated with. Okay, if you're still listening and you haven't gone, wow, she's really lost it, hello. But yeah, we're going to be Living more in our heart coherence. And it's interesting, I'm not sure if you've ever heard of the Telepathy Tapes on Spotify, but search it up immediately and put it on your playlist. Because if you need scientific proof that telepathy existsâ and it's funny because I actually got some thumbs down on my last video that I did where I was talking about how telepathy has been scientifically proven to existâ the Telepathy Tapes, um, it's autistic non-verbal children who communicate telepathically with each other and also with their, like, careâ primary carers usually. And they have put them in separate rooms, like, under scientific, like, conditions. And the observations are undeniable that telepathy exists. They were able to point outâ they're non-verbal, but they canâ they've got communication tools. They were able to point out exactly what was going on in the room. When they can't see the carer. And they meet each other on this place called the Hill, which they all hang out onâ not physically, telepathically. And they even proveâ they proved that the kids have been meeting. They'd never met each other in person, yet they communicated to the parents about this other kid, say, in another, like, state, not even in the same state they lived in. And they knew things about the kids that there's no way they could have known. So if you're a non-believer in telepathy, Telepathy Tapes on Spotify, absolutely fascinating. I think they might be making a movie, whichâ can't wait. Get the popcorn out. I actually don't like popcorn, so I probably won't have it, but occasionally I will if I'm really hungry. But it's really sad, actually. Like, everyone loves going to the movies because of the popcorn and like the frozen Coke and stuff, and I don't like either of them. I'm a real Bummer for the snacks department at the movie cinema. It's like I wish I loved it, but I just don't. And I digress. You don't need to know about my movie snacking preferences, but they're not popcorn and they're not slushy drinks. Actually, I don't mind slushy drinks. I just don't like the 2 flavors that the movie serves. Anyway, I really digress now, but okay, turn this off immediately. Five minutes. Just start with five, and I want you to daydream something fantastical. And I don't care how stupid it is. I just want you to see yourself doing it. Like see what is it? Believe in the unbelâlike in the impossible. And that's whatever I said at the beginning. Believe in the magical. But the impossible. I always sign used to sign off with my kids. It's like love you so much. And it would be love you more. They'd always say love you more, and I would say impossible, like the French for impossible. It's like, it's impossible you could love me more. And then now my eldest would always say, Mom, I can do the impossible. And I'm like, hell yeah, you can. Yes, you can, girl. So anyway, that's the prescription. That's the medication for today. That's the homework. Go and just spend 5 minutes, close your eyes, and just dream. Maybe it is you on a dragon, like Maybe you're on a stage talking to like a stadium full of people about your passion. Maybe you're a musician that's playing like, or playing in a like, I don't know what's a famous, like the Rose Garden or something. I'm not sure ifâ I think that might be a sports thing actually. Wembley Stadium, I know that's one for music. Like, if it's not fun, like it doesn't have to be mad like dragons, it can just be like dream the impossible, like You don't need to. We no longer need to use these brains to figure out how to get there. We are not in charge of the how. Nope, nope, nope. We are not in charge of the how. So just dream it. Just dream it. Just sit there and like allow yourself the space to just believe in the impossible. I think that's a really good homework assignment. As homework goes, like, I remember when I was, um, going through university and I was studying something very difficult, and I used to give myself daydream breaks. It was literallyâ I didn't call them that. I called them likeâ they were literally like stare-at-the-wall breaks. I think what I was actually doing, which I didn't realize, it was a form of meditation where I would just lie on the bed and just zone out, just blank at the wall, and I often would end up in daydream. Probably far away from whatever I was studying, like thermodynamics or something. But at the time, what I was actually doing was meditating without realizing it. I was just shutting everything down and just blanking. But instead of just plain blanking, I want you to daydream. Well, mate, but but there might be a process, and it'll be really interesting. Leave in the comments what you think about that. If there is a process, we I feel like a bit like the tiredness. We need to clear out some of the bottom layers first of exhaustion and all of those sorts of feelings before we have the space to jump into the daydreaming. I don't know though, I might be wrong. Let's just jump straight into daydreaming. You know how kidsâ kids are great at daydreaming and making up like stories, and I'm gonna do this and this and this. And we've lost that along the way, that magical like imagination of all the things that you could do and be. And what is that like? What comes from here? What would be like so amazing and so fun? Like, Are you flying in a private jet on the way to your concert that you're giving at Wembley Stadium? Who's there with you? Like, are you sitting next to, like, I don't know, your other famous rock star that's inspiredâ that inspired you, that has connected, contacted you and said, you inspire me? And youâ and like, you've invited them to come along for the ride. Like, I don't know, it's yourâ like, this is yourâ this is your imagination. Like, dream it and believe. Believe in the impossible. So I love you lots, and that's your homework, and bye.
