All right, welcome back to Studio 40 Live. This next segment sponsored by Scanties anti-shapewear.
I love it.
Isn't that great? I love this. Well, we've got some here, you know, we got Susie in the house all the way from the land down under.
You put the ladies on attention too. You're like, look ladies, be ready, she's coming in.
Right, she's coming in hot.
All right, Susie, welcome to the show. Welcome to California.
Thank you.
Welcome to all of it.
I know, thank you for having me, Scott and Gary. It's so exciting to be here.
It's great just to hear you talk. That's what's fun, right?
I love it. All right, you want to give us a little history lesson on Scanties?
Okay.
When you started, why you started, all those Definitely.
So, scanties, the idea behind it is to promote your natural body and your natural shape. And we call it anti-shapewear because we don't want to contort and shape your body into any mold that's not your natural form.
Fair enough, right.
We want you to celebrate your natural shape, but do it in a comfortable way. So you can have smooth lines and look fantastic in that dress, but you don't need to put on double layer of super tight stuff. shapewear, which is actually really dangerous for your organs. And yeah, you have a lot of stuff going down there, intestines and— Yeah, so they're super stretchy. They just contour with your natural shape. No muffin tops because of the displaced pressure point around the waistband. So I have an engineering background, and so that was super important for me to do that.
Wow, sure.
So I sort of structurally engineered them that way. And then there's also a really large cotton panel. So it's sort of— that's the mashup of the cotton underwear inside. So this is a really important factor, especially in any climate that is hot. This area needs to breathe.
Yes, that's what I was gonna say. It's got to be breathable material for, I guess, for, I guess, obvious reasons.
Yes.
And so where did— how did you come up with the materials and figure all that out?
Definitely.
And what we need, because we need to look at the labels when we're, when we're buying these things, I guess, right?
Yeah.
Well, not me. Well, maybe I'll buy one now. I don't know. I got this, you know.
Definitely. So we use, um, the nylon, so there's no PFAS or any of those. That's a big hot topic in the news at the moment about the chemically treated fabrics that can actually leak into your skin and, yes, like, slowly poisoning you.
Yeah, that's not good.
Some of the athletic wear does that, but definitely none of those. And we have the 100% cotton gusset with just a little bit of stretch to contour with the body.
Yeah.
It had to, like, when I make each pair, like, quality control is so important, but it's not what you would think. I have to, if I don't put them on and gasp, like, oh my God, that feels so good. You know when you put something on, like, just say even like pajamas, you've been out in the rain, you get home, you put your, flannel pajamas on and, or your hoodie or whatever, you go, oh my God, it feels so good.
It's like a hug.
That's the QC for these. It has to be, oh my God, I feel so good in these.
That's great.
Well, that's what I think I said when I touched those. I was like, oh my God, it's amazing.
You really did. You had a reaction.
I did.
Which is why we were trying to get you in a pair. We do know, sadly, that social media is perpetuating a lot of, I don't know, just kind of sending people globally the wrong way. And so to see what you're trying to do as a company, even as a the kind of cultural things that you're dealing with here, it's really special for people. We wanna be able to have people feel good in their own bodies, right?
Yes, and so that's what we're— we love social media 'cause it can be a platform to say, to tell people, it's giving people permission to be themselves. And that I think is a thing for every aspect of life, but it comes out predominantly in how we feel about our bodies. But giving permission to be yourself, following, unfollowing accounts that make you feel bad, like, curating a feed of things that is uplifting and positive and being a source of information for those particular accounts or being the source of information for someone to come. And you don't even need to buy our product to help to feel good.
Yeah.
You can actually just, if you visit our site or our website or our Instagram or socials or anything like all our videos, all our messaging is targeted to tell you, you are beautiful as you are, exactly as is. Like, like it's like, I recently used the analogy like we're all a field of flowers. Like you have the roses and peonies, lilies. Like they're all different. They're all beautiful in their own ways. And so just to embrace exactly who you are because you are just you're a beautiful creature.
Oh, what are what are those weeds over there? Oh, that's Gary and Scott.
Yeah, never mind.
Sorry.
We're the weeds. Special offer.
So beautiful.
Thank you very much. All right. Hit us with a special offer because I know you know people love those and. We can't wait to get our hands on these.
Yes, so we have a Studio 40 code for if you buy 3, you'll get an extra pair free. I love that. That's an extra.
All different colors and fabrics and styles and things.
There's prints, there's some skulls for the edgy people, there's leopard for the rawr, there's a bunch of plains, a fun cotton candy for the girls that love pink.
All right.
And a heap of neutrals.
So there we go, there we go.
Love those. All right, well, hey, congratulations. As a dad of a Moving into 8th grade, I really appreciate the messaging behind what you're doing here. I— because we know you're fighting a beast on the other side, and so really appreciate how you're going about this, and congratulations with all the success already.
