When the Universe Trips You—Literally!

Susie Taff, founder of Scanties, broke and dislocated her finger in a recent accident and sees it as a sign to stop over-scripting her content. She's launching Susie Unshaped to create from the heart instead, using breathwork and abandoning what she calls emotional shapewear: the limiting beliefs that hold us back.

Hello everyone. This is the first live for Susie Unshaped, and it has come about because I had a very large smack in the face by the universe yesterday, which has resulted in this bruising everywhere on my knees, a gray stomach, the whole shebang, and Firstly, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Susie Taff. I am the founder of Scanties, which I thought was just a comfy underwear brand, and it turns out is actually so much more than that. So I have been doing that for 10 years now, and I've realized that it is actually about feeling good within yourself. So that's what's brought about Susie Unshaped, and Susie Unshaped is about removing all the emotional shapewear that we have on ourselves, like the shoulds and the old belief systems and the old patterns that we do, and anything that is not actually to our highest good or like coming from our heart. We're so stuck in our heads all day, every day, and it's about returning back into your heart and listening to that. So, um, my enormous stack yesterday that resulted in me being in the emergency department last night for 4 hours, um, was a huge wake-up call, uh, to stop using my brain, basically. I've been trying to figure everything out, and I've been trying to learn platforms, and I've been trying to even get verified on platforms. And, and I realized I was not listening to what the universe was showing me, which is Do the, do the one platform you already know, which is YouTube. So that's why I am here on my first live stream, and I am nervous as hell, but I'm doing it anyway. So I really wanted to talk to you about coming back into your breath. And, um, I must say, last night in the emergency department, I definitely used my breath a lot to try and calm myself down. I was in a lot of pain. Until I got the, until I got the laughing gas, which, um, helped, helped. But that was probably, it took me probably an hour and a half or nearly 2 hours before I got some of that. So there was a lot of deep breathing and I had wanted to, um, walk you through a beautiful, um, breathwork session, but I've just learned in my recent discovery that you can't play music in live. So we probably won't be a live recorder most of the time because I want to be able to provide you with a lovely breath. and, um, beautiful music that I— for me, music just resonates so much into my heart, and I can— and it, it just makes me feel so amazing. So in future, I will be, um, recording it probably with music offline and then playing it in the background, it already pre-done. So, um, this Is actually much harder than I had expected. So whilst I, I, and I've been trying to do a lot of things lately, but I've been trying to do curated things and scripted things. And I realized that's actually not the way to go about this because when you do it that way, it takes A, way too long, and B, you never can get it quite right. So you might do the same take like 15 times, which is— it's just a— it's a blocker, basically. So, um, interestingly, I have a great book, um, by Annette Noontil, who, um, is The Body Is the Barometer for the Soul. So after I did this finger, so it was the proximal bone, and so I looked in the book and the book said that I need to use my own wisdom to— no, I'll actually— I'll actually get it up and say Use your own wisdom to communicate your creativity. And the slap in the face was doing all of the curated, scripted, perfect, polished recordings was not actually what my— it was what my head was telling me. It wasn't what my heart was telling me. So I think going forward, everything has to be heart-based. And so The thank you for breaking my finger. It was a break, a fracture, and a dislocation. So I had to have it pulled back, which my friend that was there with me apparently said it looked like a sausage being pulled out and put back together. So I'm very glad that I didn't watch that one. So it's very sore. I've got black and blue. Actually, that's another point I wanted to make. Bruises all over my body. But I was wearing a fully cream outfit. Cream thin top, cream long jumper, and a cream long skirt. And interestingly, whilst I've got— I actually have grazes on my stomach, but the cream shirt has not a single mark on it. And my skirt, I really smashed my knee, yet the cream skirt has not a mark on it. So I take that as even more divine intervention, that they were giving me a very big message through my body. Um, that I had to listen to. So I am going to start to live more heart-based and less in my head, which I thought I was doing, but obviously I was not. So, um, thank you all for listening, and I hope you have a great day. Bye.
