Suzanne Noble explains erotic massage as a way to build intimacy through touch and consent. She notes how terminology differs for men and women, and argues for a gradual transition from traditional massage to more sensitive areas rather than jumping straight there.

Do you like erotic massage? Erotic massage is as it sounds, commonly referred to for men as a happy ending massage or for women, well, there's really no name for it, is there, if you're a woman, but we know what it means. It means pleasure in those erotic sort of places and I think just generally that massage is a fantastic way to build intimacy just, um, touching another person is such an important way to build that closeness, to build trust with another person. For me, the thing about any sort of massage, especially if somebody is suggesting that they're really good at erotic massage, is that it starts in a kind of traditional massage way and then gradually leads to those areas that are more sensitive. I don't like it, frankly, where the person that's suggesting that they're good at this erotic massage sort of thing, just goes directly there. It's a little bit too much, and yeah, I, I think the part of building up that whole sense of eroticism is around just the situation where you are ultimately allowing somebody, giving somebody consent to be able to touch those areas of your body, and Whatever you like, whether it's an erotic massage or just a massage, I said it is all about consent, and it's one way that you can just build up to further intimacy with someone. So enjoy.
