Talk about vaginal dryness, shall we? Because I don't think we talk about it enough. And often, if your partner is complaining that sex is painful, the reason could be that at our age, the vaginal walls thin out. Often sex can lead to tearing of those walls, and guess what? It feels awful. And I know because I'm one of those women that have experienced that. First thing I did, because I didn't really know much about all this stuff, is I went and got some good lube. That sort of solved the problem to a certain extent, but not nearly enough. And that's when my friend Sam Evans at Joe Devine suggested vaginal estrogen, which, guess what, no doctor had ever told me about. But I went to my doctor and I asked for some, and they went, "Yeah, of course you can have vaginal estrogen because it's just topical, releases a tiny amount into your bloodstream." It's not like the estrogen patches or anything else that you would use. It just works down there, plumping up the vaginal tissues, adding more lubrication and moisture. And guess what? Sex started to feel great again. I use this stuff, it's called Vagirux. There are different brands on the market. My one comes with an applicator that looks like this, comes with these little pills that you stick in the applicator. I use it twice a week. Depending on what your doctor tells you, you can use it more or less. Well, more, I suspect. But anyway, go and see your doctor, ask about vaginal estrogen. It has been absolutely a lifesaver for me. I am not going to stop using this, and guess what? I don't have to.
