How would you feel if your partner's best friend just happened to be of the opposite sex? That's been my situation for a while. I, my best friend is a former boyfriend and he's my best friend and we talk pretty much every single day. We spend quite a lot of time together when we can, although we don't live that close to each other. And sometimes when I'm involved with people, they find our relationship quite threatening. I suppose that has to do more with them than with me because I know that I'm capable of having relationships that are very deep, that are purely platonic, and I'm capable of having sexual relationships that aren't very deep and are very fun. And, you know, that's just the way it goes. So I think one of the benefits of being an older person is that we can look at all our relationships and decide, you know, what joy they bring us. And they don't all have to deliver absolutely everything to us. They can just be fantastic for what they are. But I know not everybody's comfortable with that, and I'm curious to know how you feel.
