Online dating. Online dating can work at any age, but having done a lot of it myself, here are my top tips. One, don't invest too much hope. That's the main one, because you build up all this hope, you meet someone, there's no chemical attraction, and you feel devastated. So starting with just reasonable expectations to begin with is always a good thing to do. Two, show up as your best self. That means looking nice, making an effort, asking somebody else to perhaps take a picture of you. And don't do the cliché things, men, like standing on the top of a mountain with an expensive bicycle or skiing and still wearing your goggles or with a lion out in the safari or whatever. It just is frankly ridiculous. We want to see the real you, not the pretend you, the aspirational you, but the actual genuine you. And that's the third thing is Reflect in your profile the real you, the you that people love. Ask other people what they love about you, that's another good thing to do. Try and be funny if you can, 'cause humor always wins over women, or men for that matter. But just be yourself, be realistic about what you're looking for and your expectations, and similarly, When somebody matches with you, really choose that person and just don't automatically say yes. Think about, does this person in their own profile suggest a person that you might like to meet that has similar interests to you, seems to have a similar outlook on life? Because this is all about compatibility. This isn't just about desperation. So those are my top tips, and my little sort of funny one is to start with one app, stay on it for a couple of weeks, and then come off, try another, and just keep rotating them so that you always look like you're a new person on that particular platform. Good luck!
